Ed Millibands lisp...

I just can't take this guy seriously with the awful lisp he has, aside from the fact hes labour and after the last decade of that worked out so well, the lisp just puts an automatic stigma on everything he has to say!

Poor guy :(

He needs to stop sucking **** TBH. He's a joke, his party is a joke and they aren't going to win an election with him as Leader. To make matters worse, as Cameron and Clegg are ineffectual as well, it's pretty safe to say that this country is ******.

Cast your mind back to 1997 people. Tony Blair had lead a crashing victory, John Major resigned from the Conservative party leadership promptly and in a dignified manor.

What came next, well the Tories put William Hague in the hot seat. Not the William Hague we have now, but a wet behind the ears version. No one credible wanted the job. Because anyone credible wanted to stay out of the crossfire while the party sorted it's self out. I wasn't till Micheal Howard took the reigns that things really looked steady.

My guess is that the next serious Labour leader will be a front bencher from the Blair era.

I so want Gove to become the conservative party leader

No wonder David was happy for him winning the leadership contest!

David will know Ed stands almost no chance whatsoever of becoming PM, and so when the next leadership challenge comes along, David will (at least attempt to) seem a much brighter, better option for Labour.

Surely his brother was a better speaker? Why did Labour choose Ed over David?

The trade union members chose Ed over David (and Ed did receive many more votes in the end). David won more support from Labour MPs and grass roots party members. Ed didn't even pull ahead until Ed Balls' second preferences were taken into account. :o

David was the only candidate with even a shred of credibility as a potential prime minister. He outshone his brother (and would continue to do so, were he still on the front line) at every point during the Hustings and the campaign. The sooner they boot Ed out and get David in, the better.

I'm surprised that David Cameron and Nick Clegg didn't handwrite thank you cards to the union members that secured Ed's victory. :o

I find the fact he looks like a gormless idiot, just staring into space when he isn't speaking with a totally vacant expression to be far more worrying that his lisp.

He's dreaming about going home and getting his hands on some Wensleydale.

Trade Union members, who are also members of the Labour party get two votes. It really does distort the process somewhat.
I'm a member of Unite, and I couldn't believe the amount of resource they put into emailing, posting, and phoning the membership for this Leadership election. They really really wanted their man in charge. They got their wish, but at the same time I think they've almost made Labour unelectable. With the complete sell out of the Lib Dem leadership, I can see the Conservatives getting a complete landslide for their second term.

I don't think Ed's leadership will last, but perhaps that's just wishful thinking. I agree that with him as leader, the Labour party may as well throw in the towel now. Also, whether you think they're 'right' or not, when the pain from the cuts hits, I suspect the Tories' popularity will plumet.

The Conservative's ideal political situation would be to get the pain out of the way early, have a platform of growth with which to run their election campaign and to be facing off against an Ed Miliband led Labour party.

I still want to know when flash Gordon is going to go back and grace the house with his presense; you know actually earn some of this public money he enjoys receiving month after month after month.

******* hypocrites.

All that after the 'expenses' scandal, and 'Lords' never actually voting or taking part in discussions... sure Gordon had some pretty words on the disenfranchisement of politics then.... (or is that until he takes the huff himself and thinks its a good game to play??)

It's all a big bloody joke on you me and the next person.

You act surprised?

No, I'm not really suprised.

Lies dishonesty and deception are par for the course in the UK.

I would like to know if I could just take the hump and decide to not play ball with the establishment, do you think my pay remitances would keep hitting the bank account?

The people in this country trully are taken for a bunch of mugs.

And we roll over and take it.

Viva la revolution!
