Really???? What advice do you have for making such a phone call. What do I say? I can't really accuse them can I
It took quite a few calls as most t-mobile advisors pretended to not have a clue what I was talking about. You have to just keep trying until you get someone genuine who wants to help, they do exists. hehe
I had found out prior to making the calls that if you had bought a t-mobile contract from a 3rd party source like mobiles.co.uk etc then your data was limited to 3G speeds (it was in the small print apparently). 3G is technically only something like 384kb/s which is very slow in todays standards. Anything over that is not technically 3G its 3.5g which comes up as 3G+ then H then H+ (The plus might not work if your handset is not compatible with HSDPA21 or 42).
Anyway, I realised something was wrong straight away when I got the contract. It was very slow. So after googling I realised what was happening and began to hassle the crap out of t-mobile. I basically harassed them until I got it unlocked. To be honest they never actually admitted it but one day after a few phone calls and an e-mail I did a speed test and I could suddenly get 3-4meg. I knew there was more speed to be had but I accepted it and never got back in touch with them. That was with a HTC Sensation.
Now I have changed to EE and have a Galaxy Note 2 LTE. The speed increase is unbelievable, & i'm not talking about 4G here, thats even faster. At home were I could only get 3-4meg max on H, I now get about 13meg on H+. I'm pretty happy with that.
Downside is if you bought direct from t-mobile then this might not apply & there may be a different issue.
