EE - 4G

Anyone who signs upto those tariffs are seriously brain dead, especially as its not available in 98% of the country and any tarrif under 8Gb is pointless and you wouldn't need 4g in its current state anyway.

They are going to lose out on huge amounts of potential two year contracts and tie us in, before the others get to market.

Not everyone is free to migrate right now from other networks. They have been smart in realising they are in a unique position to make it cheap for current EE users to migrate to expensive 4G tariffs before the competition comes online.

I'm sure someone like EE hasn't made this decision without very good consumer modelling.

I reckon the iphone 5 market alone will make them a lot of money.

If you don't stream films or do anything that needs Gb why pay so much more for 4G? It makes no sense.

For a start online gaming hardly uses any bandwidth but 4G offers considerably better pings.

For people who only browse the web but suffer from over congested 3G networks, which you'll notice if you ever visit central London in the middle of a weekday, you'll get considerably faster service from 4G.

I'm glad I haven't signed a new deal with tmobile... £99 to switch to 4g? On top of handset price??
As few of you mentioned prices and limits are silly...
Time to decide..o2 with note 2 on contract or stick to nexus with giffgaff and ultd internet...

Wow, greedy or what.

Can't see why anyone would want 4G with those limits and that price. Absolute rip off.

Quite happy to stick to what I've got. I have no need for 4G at the moment - certainly not for those prices. I pay ~£15 or so a month and it's more than good enough. I use facebook and browse the net occasionally, email and use a few online apps - but nothing data heavy. There's so much wifi available these days (though not as much as the US or Europe) that I tend to use that. Also, why do I need to download large amounts of data on the move?

I guess I can understand why it's important for some people though.

That is hideously overpriced. They must believe they can sell it on strength of adverts / tech for 8 months I guess because those prices are INSANE. Every other network is cheaper, I honestly believed they would be more competitive.

I'm glad i left T-mobile last month. Left them for Three.

As for the price for 4g contracts? No thanks. I'm happy with my All you can eat data with Three. I'll wait till all other major networks get 4g coverage which is about another yearts time.

London isn't the only place it gets congested and if you're web browsing you would again be stupid to pay that. Even in a congested area you can easily download web pages, albeit it much slower.

Still new day, lets see if they have any other tariffs. Or if those are the only one.

^ I doubt that EE will announce any other new tarrifs. They're going to milk it while they can.

Actually a bit cheaper than I expected to be honest, but still miles from the £50 for mobile/landline/broadband that was discussed earlier in the thread.

Question is when other carriers get their networks up and running will we see a price war or will they all charge roughly the same ?
If its the latter 4G could take years to get off the ground because people simply wont bother with it.

Ironically the 500Mb plan looks good for someone who is a heavy phone user doesn't it ? unlimited calls for £36 a month ? tradesmen/salesmen and the like who wont bother using data.

For an extra £5 each month, you’ll be able to take all your minutes and texts with you when you go and explore Europe and selected countries around the world. (You can see which ones are included at ee.co.uk.) Just choose one of our 4GEE phone plans with roaming.

WTF. I get that free at the moment with Vodafone, I am staying firmly put for the moment.

I guess you won't be going for it. :p

Nope, which is a shame, was willing to pay for it and even go contract. But at those prices not a chance. Well not so much prices, but data limits.

Three it is, all data I want with tethering(depending on tablet) for £17.90

On the other hand their fiber optic tarrif is very reasonable. Be interesting to see what areas they cover.

Voda red / 3 "one plan" (no one's going to get through 2k mins) are same price or cheaper overall.

Vamp, this is kind of an unusual req but any chance of a pic? Is it on the side of Parkgate?

What's the contract length of the sim only plans? I'm on the ee website on mobile and it doesn't tell you...

It's on the outside of Capricorn, the building facing the roundabout on the M5 - I guess so it can be seen from the M5 as you drive past.

Can't really get a pic, you'd have to be on the roundabout or footpath near the Hilton to get a good one.

Edit: On the beige brick wall, from this angle.

Edit2: Idle curiosity or do you work there also? ;)
