Elder Scrolls Online

My crafting experience as a blacksmith.

First of I would stick to one or perhaps 2 crafts to specialise in, mainly due to inventory space. First things first. If you're a blacksmith collect weapons/armour that drop. When your inventory is full head back to crafting station.

if a trait(every type of weapon or armour has 9 traits) can be learnt from it, learn it, this will destroy the item which has to be green+ as far as I know. This is done in research.

For the rest of your unwanted items just deconstruct to increase your blacksmithing ability. Create as many items as you can with the scraps for xp.

Tip: Start your crafting early in game as weapons and armour are peanuts then.

Just thought I'd share.

Not just green items.
There are white level 1 items with traits, just keep an eye out for any items with additional writing.

Its great creating with scraps but best to store some for Writs, easy 360 gold, for each profession/craft daily. To start Writs, go get certified by the lady elf in fighters guild and guy from Mages guild.

Good tip, thanks mate.

The easiest way to level up crafting like Blacksmithing is to have a friend. You create items send them to your friend, He deconstructs them and vice versa.

Now we've got the Guild set up on Xbone we can start doing that as a guild. If everybody puts in everything they make and takes an equal amount to what they put in then everybody can benefit.

Agreed. Just need more people to join, hit the magic 10 for a shared bank. Otherwise, hit me up for some trading as I spend far too much time at Devons Watch!

I am more than happy to farm mats for people, I am going to stick to apothecary and cooking, but yes, we need that darn guild bank asap.

I was really unsure about the stupid "area" voice chat in TESO, but yesterday evening gaming made me realise the potential and comic relief you can get from it.

Happily ploughing away, making items for Writs and crafting new stuff for me and the guild, a gamer with a proper Southern 'Laddish' accent boomed in, trying to get people to trade with him and picking fights with muted gamers. Yelling comical lines and calling them "b*****ds" for ignoring him.

"Look at this sword!* Whips out a great sword with flame enchantment, waving it around like it's a flag of his beliefs, "You want this mate?", "Com'on, trade with me, I just need a blood stone and I'll kit you out good, look at you and your level 4 kit..." "Com'on, com'on!" - bearing in mind, he is only like level 18, with some mishmash of kit.

Shame the Xbox recording function do not record gamers voice, it would have been such a hit!

I do normally leave the area chat, not because I object listening to others but more that I don't think others will want to listen to my teenage girls arguing and telling each other to "Do one" or "Whatever".
I also keep getting a message saying the voice servers are unavailable, not sure if my end or not but /meh.

I changed the guild ranks last night in the few minutes I was able to log on, although I did not keep the OcUK Mafia theme.

I often switch the area chat off if there's numpties like that or those who forget to turn off mic. Otherwise, it's nice to have it open, people do say Hi. Got chatting with someone after we crossed pass in the middle of no where.

Yes, saw the ranking, does the job fine whichever way you decide on names. I can't really comment on rank names when I run a guild call Tough Buttocks and all the rankings are the Butt of the joke :p

Totally understandable - it's that open for you and the lack of direction can make you wonder around aimlessly if you're not used to TES series of game. (And there's a lot of fetch quest...)

The main quest is triggered by your levelling, I was confused when I was doing plenty of side quest (between level 8 and 14) but my main quest wasn't on list until I hit level 15.

You just came back from the dead, you have whatever gear you're carrying, now go forth and do what you want.
You can go explore and be a roaming wonder, you can be a "Fight The Evil" explorer, getting rid of all daedric, along with joining the Fighters Guild to help with quest, or be a lore book reading player (my missus is one of such), join the mage guild, roaming around reading lore after lore.

Remember, your starting map is only 1 of many areas available, though it's level limiting, nothing stops you from running around a level 40 region as a level 15, attempting to outrun a wild lion (and fail!)

And this surprises you because.....?:p

Because it's easily the best MMO for years and the best on any console imo, and if you are obviously into TES and RPG generally.

The scope is huge, if you have an imagination use it.

Join a Guild and that will give you more direction if the folks in the Guild aren't *****s.
