Elder Scrolls Online

I'm enjoying this so far, although I'm only level 6. It's good fun so far, and I can feel the game starting to "bite"!

Having played EverQuest, Dark Age of Camelot and World of Warcraft I know what to expect and how things work in a MMORPG. Seems some people don't really know what they're (potentially) getting into!

This game only really opens up when you hit level 20 and you get comfortable with your character. For this game you really want to forget about other MMOs and try to play the way this game is supposed to be played. Yes, all MMOs are about questing, but, this game is about exploration as well. Forget about questing and just go where the wind takes you :)

The other thing is character building. Want to make a magic user that wears heavy plate? Go for it. Want to Want to have a tank with some range spells? Sure, why not. They try to make it so that each build has compromises but each one is viable at the same time. Oh and one more thing, this game is so much fun when you find a build that suits you. I started this game with a tank type character that I normally play and enjoy in other MMOs, but I thought the games was ok but nothing special. When I switched to a melee based nightblade the whole game just got way better. Combat was suddenly fun. Try some various builds, you might be surprised at what you end up liking.

Doing some of the group dungeons can be fun as well, especially if you are in a group where you know the other people.

This game is more about the journey rather than the rush to the highest level.

I haven't played the xbox version but have the PC version and I think it's pretty good game.

Now THAT is a tip.

I have loads of Iron ingots...

Yeah it was the one of the best things I learned about the game :) Get crafting, no point in hoarding. But once you get to a certain crafting level you will have to move onto steel, then Orichalcum etc etc.

Another Tip is if you are doing Alchemy get keen eye, it really makes a huge difference. It's not really needed for the other crafts.

Join a guild too, even if you don't want to. It's the easiest way to get Traits, because somebody in the guild will be able to craft something with the trait you need to learn. Also it gives you access to the various stones for crafting in other race types.

Alchemy is frustrating, so is enchanting. Provisioning is one of the easier one to level up. You really need a guild for enchanting, it takes forever!!

Oh and if anyone is doing alchemy, here is a great list for getting all the traits, Getting traits means more experience gain. Also, use the highest level reagents you can for better experience and quicker levelling.

EQ2 is the best MMORPG I played back when you paid.

This has easily got the potential to beat it, if you had some form of control(QTE would work) instead of the auto - crafting. EQ2 crafting was/is awesome.

Just created a "fine" ordinary iron cuirass using a method I researched, wow it looks so much better then an ordinary one! This game rocks man! Only had a 40% success chance too :)

I managed to get a helm to Fine at 40% but managed to lose a greave at 80%. Chance is such a peach.

Also, anyone got experience with being a higher level in a Group Delve? Reason I ask was, it seems being higher level don't give you as much advantage in damage as I thought, Health level still helps though.

ChuToy changed into a level 41 Char and still didn't smash the boss at level 13 in a few strike. Interesting to know though.

I'm having trouble making anything with blacksmith, i can deconstruct, i have loads of iron ingots, but i just can't make anything, my blacksmith stat is level 5, can't even make a small little dagger its red, anyone can help.

Can't quite remember off hand, but don't you need something like a species type trait thing?

But random as I said, but sure there was something like that. The second bottom box on the crafting screen?

It's a silly setup Zenimax have done without proper tutorial, even when you find the Certification guys;
1) Select the item you want (e.g. Gauntlets)
3) Next select the material type (e.g. Iron)
3) Select the number of material you want to use, which is relative to your level, more material, higher level till capped.
4) Select the style material, your character naturally knows the style of your racial material (e.g. Dunmer is Obsidian)

At this point, without selecting a trait for the item you want to create, if you press X on the Xbox (not sure about PS), you'll create your item. If you've researched a trait for that specific item, and you have the gem required for it, select it to add the trait before you craft.

Hope this helps.

That is so lame, I thought was me being dumb. That's the main good thing about these types of games being able to inspect!

It was voted against by the player base. I think it was to stop snobbery or people being excluded from groups because they were not wearing BiS.

If it helps, my current gear is probably rubbish.

Suppose that's true, I've always liked it though. Good when in the main town and you see some nice geared player come in and you research what he has etc.

I think it is a mistake not being able to inspect actually. I mean if your a blacksmith and have made some nice armor for someone it would be good advertising if it showed you made it perhaps.

Costumes = More money.

Invisible NPCs again, making the game unplayable having to keep quitting out entirely and then loading back up again.
