Elder Scrolls VI Announced!

Pre order for me 100%. There hasn't been an elder scrolls game that I've not played to death. Don't see it changing.

I used to say the same thing about Mass Effect. I will definitely keep an eye on ES6 (along with several other titles), but the problem with me putting too much faith in a games company these days is that they never do me wrong , until they do.

Its why , despite every title I have played by CD Project Red being utterly superb, I still worry that Cyberpunk wont be.

I really hope its Single player, HOWEVER I would love it to have multiplayer support (maybe 1 - 4). Similar thing to Borderlands, its really fun playing RPGs with friends, especially if you all take different classes. I do not want an MMO though or drop in/out like Divinity. Just a server-client model (Where the server is somebodies machine, not hosted lobbys) allowing for multiplayer where needed aslong as the story doesn't suffer. Opens up more to do with friends and can add challenge with unit scaling and more tactics

Yeah I would also love this kind of coop option for 2-4 players.

Not sure how it could work with the story and quests - depends how the main character's role is written, but there is always the option of having the host player be the main character and other players be "companions" to the host, when it comes to participating in larger story driven sections.

Hopefully single player and next gen engine.

I was just re-watching that interview Howard did with Geoff Keighley the other day. Most of it was about Fallout 76, but Keighley brought up an old comment of Howard's where he claimed they were holding off on the next Elder Scrolls game until technology progressed enough to allow them them do the game justice. So could be that it'll be a new engine, and they need the next generation of consoles to run it (just speculating here).

Look at some of the videos from Fallout/Skyrim Youtubers like JuiceHead, who have dug a little deeper into some of the hires and purchases by Bethesda,it looks like one more game was to be on the Creation Engine, which I suspect is Fallout 76. Starfield and the next Elder Scrolls are most likely to be a newer engine,it appears, and also they would have access to newer tech after purchase iD Software who have their own engine.

If it really is a totally new engine, then you can forget about the modding scene, as not only would they have to start from scratch (where they could sorta guess what was going to happen in newer releases), but you can bet they'll be pushing the crap out of CC.

I wonder how much sway Zenimax has been having lately, with all the changes to the corporate side of the gaming world, i imagine they wanted to leverage their games more as being hounded by investors on why they aren't must have started to grind. Oh and to note, not that it matters too much (ancient history, different work, long time at Zenimax), but the CEO is banned from working in banking for life.

Because by the time this is more than a coming soon teaser Fallout 76 will have either made the parent company massive bank or failed miserably and if it's the former you can safely say the suits will be pushing for all future games to include some mp for that sweet monetisation.

I remember when Oblivion came out and at the time there were a number people moaning that Oblivion was to simplistic and wished it was more like Morrowind.

I imagine many people weren't even alive when Morrowind came out. I too hope it's more like Morrowind and less like Skyrim and Oblivion.

Don't have any hopes since they have piddled on the grave of Fallout, and made Fallout:Rust PvP twitch streamers galore. Going by what ESO did to ES6,I expect the next Fallout SP game in a decade at this rate if it ever happens! :(

I have far more trust in CDPR than BGS,since they have said CB2077 is single player and will have no microtransactions. I increasingly get the impression CDPR cares for its fans, whereas BGS is increasingly pandering to the lowest common denominator. At least its profitable I suppose!

This. Don't forget it will need PvP and Battle Royale too.

Just like people will moan that 6 isn't more like Skyrim LOL, most of which will probably be moaning right now that Skyrim isn't more like Oblivion.

So Eurogamer think they've figured out the game's location as being
Obviously it's just a bit of speculation to pass the time, but they do go into some detail to their credit. But yeah, it'll be a long few years if this is what we're reduced to. :o

Morrowind wipes the floor with their last two efforts. Skyrim and Oblivion were too diluted and catered to the noobs. Still loved them though.

Of course it's going to be Hammerfell. Unless they combined areas, I don't think they would attempt a smaller region or revist something fairly recently done (Morrowind, Cyrodil or Skyrim). Personally, I'd like it to be a 'all in one' land. Everything you see in the picture below in the game, previous lands unchanged in terms of landscape but maybe at a different time? Before Oblivion, maybe as the empire is just starting to form? When Dragons are the norm in Skyrim.
