Emo or Goth

i saw the Cure play at glasto 1990 a big fan at the time:D, before them on the pyramid stage was the happy mondays, wow what an eye opener:)

People in Bristol should open their minds, pop on a black T shirt, and head down the Bierkeller of a Friday night. Sure lots are under-age, lots are fruitloops - but it's a proper friendly bunch from what I remember. Never felt unwelcome.

Pretty good advice here. I was thrown out for fighting when I tried this, but that happens to the best of us.

EMO's - die before 18... i know of a girl who's 2 class mates jumped of the bridge at 12 and died they both were EMO's and that was the cool thing to do.. theres a saying.. put 5 EMO's in a room, 4 will cry in the each corner the last one will suicide..

goths - know "poo" about them.. but they dont suicide or do "poo" like that..

I don't know what the difference is really except they're both a bit odd and have no association with either. Then again I like colours, and am a happy bouncy person most of the time so have nothing in common with "dark" side of things.

they're both spazzy kids who have to associate themselves with a fad to feel more comfortable in their own skins. If the only way of making yourself intersting is to wear fancy dress everyday, you are far from interesting,

at least there was some good goth music between 79 and about 85

I'm a metal'er so come into contact with both. What you will find is that peoples ideas of what a goth and what an Emo is can vary widely. For example you get people looking like 'the crow', or the big goth from butterfly effect. Also large new rocks, PVC trousers and or top with a black trench coat like fur coat.

Emo/scene also have a few types. one would be the blokes that dress in skinny clothes and try thier hardest to look like a women to try and get girls with thier 'simpathy' ploy.
then theres the guys into hardcore/post hardcore/screamo music. these tend to be more energetic more out spoken and easier to get on with. And finally the classic emo, which of course is a fast dying breed :p

You know you're an emo when you start cutting yourself and you can't remember if it's supposed to feel good or bad...

I am the same, and I think it's the reason why a lot of genres of music are closed doors to me. I don't hate anyone, I don't rage against anything, I like my life. Music like Hardcore et al I simply cannot identify with.

I would take both over chavs anyday of the week!

Gah I was going to post a picture of one of each(goth, emo and chav) but after seeing the emo pictures I wanted to smash the screen. They all look the same and pose the same! They all have that stupid doe eyed, idiotic, fake smiled look in their pictures (always taken at a random angle) Uuurgh!

But still, would take one over a chav any day

The for sale sign in the background is probably for her too :D

the keller is a good laugh, i try to avoid trouble (read conscientious objector :D ) and so never got any stick down there i couldn't deal with, but damn good fun none-the-less :)

Goths weren't so serious as emos, at least you could have a bit of a crack with them, couple of beers and talk about cradle of filth or something.

Emo's were all like "Aww I'm non conforming, chyeah, life is so hard with mom and dad providing for me, i'm gonna cut myself!!!!" in essence, whiney little brats.

Saw two goths in a shop the other day, the female one was wearing hotpants, stockings some boots and other assortments. I was stood there nursing a semi and do not find goths attractive. But she was stunning.

Now have this thing for goths.
