She says herself she was not totally deaf but severely hard of hearing and has been using hearing aids since she was two, so that explains how here speach is so good and naturally accented - she was never 'hearing for the first time'. Just hearing well for the first time. But meh - it's still pretty awesome. What great technology.

How typically American though to have her on TV - someone who's had a pretty damn good break - and give her loads of money to make themselves look really kind :rolleyes:. Are they going to help all the people who could benefit from this technology but can't afford it in the first place?

Theres always one to nit-pick, you can't be a charity towards every soul on the earth.

Why haven't you given £50 of your money this month to the red-cross? Or some other charity? Oh wait, that's right, you gone and brought yourself some healthy food for the month, shame on you! :mad:

As someone said in the comments on YT, it's win-win. She gets stereo ears, the company might do her ear for free but the publicity they'll get will probably cover that many times over. More tech is used, cheaper it becomes over time etc.
