Enable Frame Gen on 3000 series cards - Such as The Witcher 3

Have you still got to do the same process for the update? Installed 0.60 for cyberpunk last night, can I just transfer the files and overwrite them? And do I still have to run "DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks.reg"?

Just copy/overwrite when updating... I haven't needed to re-run the reg file, only once so far on current Nvidia drivers :D

  • You will need to re-run/merge the DisableNvidiaSignatureChecks.reg file after updating Nvidia drivers!

Wow, the frame gen image quality is grabage! The ghosting looks terrible too.

Ofcause it is, his base frame rate is *****

You really need a decent base frame rate (60fps), also the video is from 2 days ago. It's been updated a lot since then already. Some people are putting on frame gen when they are only getting like 20fps anyway and expecting miracles . Hence why in Alan Wake 2 it's not great, but for me in The Witcher 3 it is :) :)

Been playing around with this in Cyberpunk on my 3080, it's a game changer, a choppy 60fps experience with Ultra Raytracing is now 100fps+ and it's fairly convincing.

Path tracing works okay, but it's back to a choppy 60fps again, lets see if nvidia try and patch this out.

Working nicely in Robocop, so much so I've maxed all the settings and it's still 100fps+ Looks great.
Hogwarts Legacy works but crashes if you mess with the DLSS quality mode.
Starfield works, maxed everything and it's sitting around 120fps in most places now.

Last Of Us doesn't even support FG, which is surprising. My 3080 will keep me going for a while longer it seems. :)

EDIT: Anyone had any luck with Portal RTX? Doesn't seem to an option for Frame Generation.

Definitely disable motion blur in Cyberpunk with this, causes some horrible artifacts while dashing and blade fighting. Overall its definitely worth enabling FG, but it's something you have to test on a game by game basis, and will probably need to play with settings.

Hopefully now that this is open source, lots of these issues will be mitigated over time. Assuming nvidia allow us to continue using this.

Well they've allowed PureDark to make a ** ton of money on the back of Nvidias property with that DLSS 3 mod so... Wont do anything

Don't know why anyone in their right mind would have motion blur on anyway.

Same goes for chromatic aberration and film grain.

I gave it a go in CP2077 and whilst the FPS was reporting as much improved, the overall experience was very choppy with weird artifacts. Definately promising though and shows what Nvidia could be doing for 3000 series owners...

Edit: Much better after a reboot.

Tried this on my tv even though I can get only get 60fps on 1440P and 4k.I was getting in the 40s I think on 1440P DLSS Quality with Path tracing with fg off, turned fg on and it certainly felt a lot smoother apart from the yellow direction hud(if that's what it's called) looking blurry when moving around

Flickering FIX ( OLED )

To everyone else that has major flickering with your OLED in bright areas, you can either turn the sharpen down OR go into your Nvidia driver and enable DSR-Factors between 1.78X DL to 2.25X DL (DLDSR) which looks great with DLSS. This works perfectly in The Witcher 3 and Ratchet and Clank, but I haven't tried it in other games!

GHOSTING FIX : AVATAR/THE WITCHER 3 ETC

Apparently, using the latest DLSS 3.1 you are more likely to get ghosting, however this is fixed in the older version DLSS 2.5.1

Back up your original DLSS and downgrade to 2.5.1 see if it fixes the issue

Download : NVIDIA DLSS DLL 2.5.1

Made no difference for Witcher 3 for the specific weird ghosting issue I'm having that I describe in the FSR3 thread linked below, and it also caused the game to crash when camera panning quickly. I have found a semi fix though for my ghosting issues in W3 with the mod.....
