When I used them I had them connected to a waterproof outdoor socket with an RDC built into that socket.

Edit to add

I used 3 for 3 years without any issue, saved me a small fortune, 2x250w and 1x330w

No but they might be going into your house to steal the batteries and inverters etc. Plus your car keys to drive it all away with them!
If they can lug the battery down the stairs they're welcome to it:p

It took two guys to carry it up them (IIRC it's about 60kg), I'm fairly sure there are much more valuable, and smaller/lighter items to steal:)

There are huge solar farms with panels just sat on the ground, can't see trying to rip them off a house roof as a profitable or sensible endeavour! :D

Besides, even if they do, that's what home insurance is for.
