Works out at around £1,700/annum at Energy Price Guarantee prices.
Exactly. so why did they increase my DD to £180 if £144 is enough to easily cover my annual bill. i would have been £460 in credit and currently keeping usage below my current annual usage. So far this year i have used 1800KWh electric and 2800KWh gas. Expecting gas to jump up due to colder times coming and heating coming on. Maybe 4000KWh of gas tops. Should be coming in under annual consumption :)

Being on the capped rate there’s no benefit to a DD - so I’ve just put a grand on the credit balance using a cashback card (£5 bonus) that’s interest free for another 9 months.

No more arguing about DD amounts, it was starting to get annoying!

It's still the standing charge it's a utter ******** disgrace.

This is was I was saying a few weeks back. Yes cutting your usage will help, but it won't do anything about the SC. There was some muppet on here saying I was wrong lol Maybe I was, but AFAIK, cutting your energy usage and replacing old ovens/showers etc etc to more efficient ones won't reduce your SC.

No idea, it's a conversation you'll have to have with EDF if they'll talk to you.

Maybe there's no benefit for you but many don't have a grand to credit to their account or a 0% card to put it on.

Love EDF, just logged on to the app to see a message saying I should increase my DD by 25%. I'm on a deal until Spring 2024 and they've recently given me several hundred pounds back as a refund.
They can sod off.
Check how many refunds they gave you, I received several. I just paid it all back to them in one lump sum, in favour of a lower direct debit. They can do what they want off the tiny amount of interest they might make from my credit.

Well I've mentioned above that there's a message on my EDF account to up my DD by 25% for absolutely no reason. No thanks.

Just the one, which I shall keep. My DD is set at £125 for gas/elec, we use around £75 a month, going up to around £150 over the winter (yes in cash terms, I'm on a cheap deal) and obviously this winter I shall be getting £66/£67 a month off that too.
They're just trying it on IMO. there is no reason for a DD increase.

Had the same. Even though my gas should have been switched to Tracker, not sure why it hasn't been.

3 more subsequent emails to Octopus and no reply, so I DM'd them on Twitter last night and get a reply this morning.

Electricity is back to Agile, Gas is now on Tracker and they've redone the billing for the entire period when it wasn't Tracker when it should have been.

Though the gas smart meter hasn't been sending them readings since 9th September - but glad to be on Tracker since gas is 4.6p today which is alright.

Yes, got it credited to my bank account the other day. Although communication from them about how/when has been non-existent.

Thanks. I think my account is ballsed up as they haven’t collected my DD the last three months. I thought they were good to start with but I’m starting to think they’re useless.

Is tracker gas cheaper all the time.

Saved £45 for the month turning off all the plugs overnight and being religious with turning all the lights off when needed, the kids just don't bother so it's been hard work this month but worth it
Just goes to show how much we waste without thinking. £45 a month is £540 a year... thats 1/3 of a 4090 :D

EDF are a complete shower, as soon as the £66 a month thing is over i'm switching to Octopus. I'm afriad of doing it before because i know they'll screw something up along the way
