Energy Suppliers

I don't think I will get anything better I just wanted to check if it's what should be charged, I thought it looked a little more than what the variable rate was but I've been unable to find the standard variable rate online.

How long do you think I should wait before I contact shell?

Shell and octopus have hundreds of thousands of customers to port over from green and avro, it's going to take time. Cancel your dd to green/avro put the money to one side and sit tight, it's a mess but it'll get sorted.
Be ready for big bills though, gas/electric is a lot more expensive than it was 6 months ago and when the cap lifts early next year it's going to be about double what you're used to paying.

Wholesale prices are back up to their peak again this week as Germany have stated they aren't signing off on the new pipeline.

Germany cant allow the pipeline from Russia while war is in prospect. Even without the green switch etc. they have to stop relying on such an aggressive nation for energy. That'd be a long term factor also rising demand around the world too but short term they should be able to increase alternative sources

Flexible Avro
Unit rates
Electricity: 19.89p per kWh
Gas: 3.94p per kWh
Standing charges
Electricity: 26.82p per day
Gas: 26.11p per day

I can't believe the standing charges on the current deals just now.

I fixed for 12 months in May and, back then, it was 7p/day standing charge for each one... It's nearly quadrupled going on the above

The average was like 20p, I don't know who you switched with but 7p is very low.

Having hassle myself.
Mismatch on closing read from green to opening read with Scottish Power.

Electricity lines up but gas is 400m3 out. Higher on green than is correct.

So green (the administration) are chasing me for money and Scottish Power have raised a dispute.

No way in paying green as I'll never get that back I doubt. Hopefully it all gets sorted.

Wondering if my fix with Scottish Power is going to be the better choice. Most people on here reccomded I went variable but I decided to fix.

It's Fix Online Exclusive v68 from Eon via USwitch back in May 2021.

I only looked at this on most recent bill which says (snipped from bill)
Standing charges £5.60
12 Sep 2021 to 30 Nov 2021 80 days at 7.0p

Unless I'm missing something?

I have snipped this from my bill to remove identifiable info... Let me know if I'm reading it wrong:

7p per day standing charge, but paying over 17ppkwh for your electricity only works if you are using very little electricity, given the above you only used 2.75kwh per day which is basically nothing versus an average household.

Nope, 17ppkwh is a bargain right now.

I'd be paying whoever had the lowest price per kwh for that 400m3

Well that is the reason for the fix, he's the one laughing now. 17p wasnt terrible in May either, Bulb put my price up to 18.7p in May.

That's pretty much the SVR rate that was set, with a lower standing charge though. I assume you moved from Bulb when they hiked your prices in May?

No because you couldn't fix for cheaper than that. Fixes started to get substantially higher than the price cap.

Weird, 'cause in August I swapped from Agile to Go with Octopus, and I have a year capped at 15.6ppkWh and 5.5ppkWh for 5 hours off peak.
