Engine dilemma.....

what about grip? have you considered how hard it will be to drive when under boost? LSD would help, but still a lot of power through a very light front end.

S/C setup will cost me a lot more than the hairdryer though, will it not?

Jackson versus turbo is cheaper and much less plumbing to do, especially if you go 2nd hand.

TBH I dont know what your going to be using the car for though so its hard to select without that information.

There fine with boost. Its a Type R Integra.... LSD by default and proper suspension with equal length. Honda do chassis's almost as well as there engines.

Me. I think that comment was in my post :p
You posted "Jackson with no intercooler isnt really that great for sustained use" but nobody suggested running anything without an IC so I'm confused as to why you even brought it up :/
Prelude isnt that strong, Nikasil bores and revvy pistons. 2.3 is far better to boost, or even the F20B 2.0

Checking around, there seems a few septics running 300+bhp on stock internals. Blimey.

I'd go for just getting the B20 running right to be honest.

Spending lots on a Honda engine rarely gains much.

I suggest you research Jackson Honda kits then.

There is merit in this thread to mention the limitations of the jackson kit which is the only rootes PD charger you can get off the shelf for a backwards spinning Honda.

Is it okay if I post again?.

The car is just my toy, mainly road but sees track action a few times a year, and a little drag action too.

To play devil's advocate for a second, why are you constantly chasing the Jones'?

Personally, I'd prefer to have a mildly tuned car that was running PERFECTLY, than have a mad car that was dodgy. I'd take more pride in that.

I want to say Turbo but I just wouldn't mean it. To save yourself from yourself, get it NA and leave it alone. If you get a turbo setup you will fiddle till it blows up.

£1000 getting engine fixed
£1000 getting Carbon Fibre Doors
£500 for carbon boot

Get Sneaky Peaky on that things ass.

Agreed. Get it running like it should be.

£2.5k is a lot of money NA. I could almost get a supercharger for that and instant 125hp gain

tbh if you're thinking of going back to a turbo/super charged car I really question why you ever sold the RX-7 or the Scooby. Both are arguably more capable cars when talking large bhp figures.

Boost it man! Turbo will add torque - big boost adds big torque.

With good mapping you should be able to have a nice midrange spike and have it tail off towards the top end when VTEC takes over if you're worried about it holding together.

Don't worry too much about traction unless you're going well north of 300 BHP, especially if you have equal length shafts and decent suspension. Plenty of RSTs, Civics, Corsas/Novas etc pulling a lot more than that (although in true Ford style, most big power RSTs break gearboxes for fun!!) Scrabbling for traction is not really any different to waiting until you get to 10,000,000 rpm and hit VTEC y0! now to go is it? :D

There's one RST that's having a 536 BHP Duratec turbo dropped in it very shortly - that's something to aim for.................;)

TBH I'm leaning more and more towards keeping it N/A now, it just makes more sense all round. Problem is I have to wait for a little while, Pez can't fit me in till the end of may :(

And that is doing me a favour and squeezing me in.....

I wanted it ready for some track action at Japfest, I'll have to give that a miss now.
