England and Wales are no longer Christian nations...

I don't care. I really don't care in the slightest. I don't care whether people believe in a deity or not and if they do, which one. It has no effect on my day to day life.
I agree, but some religions such as Islam are far more aggressive and controlling in nature. The vast majority of Islamic countries are almost completely ruled by adherence to religion.

Muhammed says homosexuality is wrong, so gays are either locked up or thrown off buildings. Same applies for Mohammed’s views on adultery, alcohol, apostasy and a million other things.

Sort of:

So Christianity is still the majority religion, but more than half the UK now identify either as 'No Religion' or some other religion.

Any thoughts? I'm fine with phasing out pixie sky worshipping to be honest. I've been to a few church weddings, baptisms etc and always found them quite cringe worthy.
dont care either way...... i still think we are a christian country as that is still the majority individual one even if not majority over all if that makes sense. but its a label i do not care about one way or the other.
live and let live and so long as people do not try to force anything on me, if they get comfort and (in many cases more importantly) companionship and social contact out of religion then great.

our local church is pretty good, its really as much a youth club for older people with their coffee mornings and what not. when i am older if i am alone i could see me going along now and then but not for actual faith reasons and i dare say they would welcome me.

Good. Maybe now religion can have less of an impact on government policy and those who claim the majority of England and Wales are Christian can kindly go and do one.
Cool, I'll wait for them to repeal murder as there's a few people this Earth can do without

Islam up 44% in one census alone...now 6.5% of population and definitely underreported.

But I remember the liberals saying they were going to assimilate in and become secular!

Native population down another 5%. Certain places like Leicester now a majority non white. But the replacement theory is just conspiracy!

(For what it's worth I'm fine with the genocide of the British they caused so much misery in the past few hundred years that its karma. I'm just worried about the impact on the rest of Europe).

One has only to see how many new Mosques have appeared, or existing ones extended in size to see religion, albeit not Christianity, is far from dead in the UK. When did you last see a new C of E church paid for and built? The UK will be a very different place in the next 50 or 75 years, luckily it won't be my problem and i have no children to apologise to for us not heeding well presented warnings, and allowing the situation that is all but irreversible now.

Education and modern wester culture has effectively killed Christianity in a generation what's to say it won't do the same to other Faiths? If you went back to the 50's and told someone that within 75 years basically nobody would be going to church they would have laughed at you as basically everyone went.

I am amazed so many people identify as Christian, I wonder who they are. I was baptised as a baby through no choice of my own, I don't agree with it and don't identify as Christian and I don't know anybody who goes to Church either.

When I ask why I was baptised as none of my family go to church the answer just seems to be 'that is what people did back then' and that is only 30 odd years ago, much has changed in such a short time.

Yup, since i was a child

So, one version of them:

1 - "You shall have no other gods before me.

2 - "You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandments.

3 - "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name.

4 - "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labour and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.

5 - "Honour your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

6 - "You shall not murder.

7 - "You shall not commit adultery.

8 - "You shall not steal.

9 - "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbour.

10 - "You shall not covet your neighbour’s house. You shall not covet your neighbour’s wife, or his male or female servant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbour.”

The first four are about god being his narcissistic self and making it all about him. Nothing to do with our laws there.

The fifth is a bit meaningless.

We have to get to the 6th one before he decides that maybe killing eachother isn't a good thing, something humans had figured out WAY before the books of the bible were written. There were civilisations with their own codes of law over a thousand years earlier.

Also strange how our own legal code is unimaginably huge comapred to these few things the apparently CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE decided were the most important, without things like saying sexual assault is bad, or don't touch kids. Nope - mustn't work on sundays and only believe in me!
