Covers are going back off and the Indians are trying to hide, not in the spirit of the game is it?
EDIT: Dhoni taking as much time as pos and I bet they will spend another 10 mins getting the field ready while they wait for rain to come...
Covers are going back off and the Indians are trying to hide, not in the spirit of the game is it?
When India were winning it was hard to get them out of the changing rooms, now when we are winning they don't want to go off. They don't like the taste of their own medicine...
I hate this spirit of the game nonsense. It was called for Ian Bell, and the phrase is used a lot, but there's so many instances where the spirit of the game should be applied, but it isn't.
Think of dismissals this series. When Morgan got out at Lord's. He thought he edged it, so he walked. That was in the 'spirit of the game'.
What about when Harbhajan inside edged it and was given out lbw? The England team would have seen on sky sports that it wasn't out, but did they recall him? No.
What about when it hit Dravid's shoelace? Did they decide to recall him? No.
The Indians rushed into the pavillion because they thought it was raining. That's why they were there. That's not against the spirit of the game.
England have done nothing to return the favour that India gave them. It WAS a favour, I refuse to accept that it was anything else, and therefore I feel England owes India in that respect.
Yes okay it was raining yet they stayed outside when it was raining HARDER and all the covers were coming on, they weren't going in for shelter they wanted to win any way they could.
Lets think about the Bell thing, the rules say you can only be run out when attempting a run, he was walking off for tea, so it was best that the appeal was reversed. Harbhajan would have been able to appeal but ohh wait, the Indians didn't want DRS to be used for LBW's. So you shot yourselves in the foot. And what you expect them to call him back when they looked at Sky, which was at the end of their innings? I don't believe that is possible.
Dravid is a muppet, he could have reviewed it but didn't, you can't relate that dismissal to the Bell one.
It was not a ******* favour! The rules state you have to be attempting a run to be given run out, he wasn't so India did the right thing. I'm fairly sure you can't recall somebody after the innings has finished so Harbhajan couldn't be recalled and Dravid should have realised he didn't hit and could have appealed so can only blame himself...
