England V India ***Clash of the Heavyweights*** Test, T20 and ODI Series

Erm were you even watching it?

Morgan didn't move, he didn't think the ball was dead, he even put his hand up!

Again what has this got do with understanding the spirit of the game?

Morgan didn't move because he was at pavilion end was waiting for his partner. You can argue all you like but after speaking to his team Dhoni realised what had happened and rectified it. He understand what it means, you clearly don't.

Don't be daft, the new ball is due soon and that's always a time for breakthroughs - if you skittle us with a lead for 300 you have the batting quality to chase that down.

I'm not being daft. Indian team is so deflated right now, the new ball won't do jack ****

I only hope Bell and Morgan and Prior and Broad and Bresnan and Swann and Anderson will throw their wickets away.

I'm out.

We certainly agree on this point. The abuse Michael Vaughan has been receiving from Indian "fans" has been shameful. I'll add an apology if it might have seemed I was picking on your posts, and arguing with them :)

Thanks! The Collingwood incident being shown now was a lame one as well..
England are as responsible at times through history, and i don't like them any better.

Yup, clearly I don't. Neither do England, when it suits the team.

Like I said, I see why Dhoni did what he did. I don't agree with it though, perhaps I would if I was in his position.

Look at that incident with England/Collingwood against NZ....lol spirit of the game eh?

And that annoyed the hell out of me as well.
And the Smith runner incident..

England have been no angles in the past, and i criticise them on an individual basis when its deserved as well.
Im an old fashioned cricket fan as i said before

Wasn't there a similar incident after that when Strauss was captain and he withdrew the appeal and called the batsman back on?

There was an incident in the Pakistan series, and with Cook for the Bangladesh ODI series.
After the criticism Strauss got for the runner drama, and Colly for the incident shown just .. I'm glad to see the Eng team starting to put the game over personal benefit.

Well no drama. I understand also he was out. It's only right you want your team to win.

I actually don't think India deserve to win to be honest.

I'm only saying it's right because it's within the laws of the game. The Indian team literally did nothing wrong, if Bell had stayed in his crease like Morgan did we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You'll see from my previous posts that I am no biased supporter. Being born here I do support England against other teams but then India is India tbh, I can't not support them.

I have to agree with TC here in that the Indian fans might be turning away from this in droves. Dhoni has shown great character here and I sincerely hope it doesn't cost him after the series is over. Remember, a win by two matches means we move to No1 Test team.

I think the one you mean was against Sri Lanka when the batsman ran into the bowler because he wasn't looking where he was going - he asked the umpire if he could withdraw the appeal and subsequently did so.

Yeah that rings a bell too.
Looking back on it I'm surprised that there's so many incidents where a captain is asked to let a player stay in the spirit of the game.
Must be one in nearly every series recently :o

I remember seeing that. Can't remember who it was against though.

Just had a quick google and the one I remember was against Sri Lanka.

I've started listening to TMS now, as much as i love Bumble and Warne i think i just prefer it tbh. Anyone else find this?
Oh and Alpherah, i agree England are no Angles?:p:confused: you've confused me now:D
