England v Pakistan **spoilers**

I've a feeling we're @25-30 runs short but it was a better effort albeit on a cracking pitch.
We look really shallow in the bowling dept at the moment though:(
I very much doubt Shoaib was actually doing anything wrong with his nail, no-one would be that silly in the current circumstances:)

Good game. Shame to see Afridi get robbed like that as he's usually good to watch.

Will be interesting to see who makes way for Flintoff when he returns, on current form you'd have to say Tresco would be at risk (with perhaps a pinch-hitter opening the batting) but I think he is too big a name to leave out. At the moment there is talk of him returning purely as a batsman which is why I was thinking along those lines rather than dropping a so-called allrounder like Clarke.

Nail biting right until the very end, could have gone either way. Was enjoyable to watch, 2-0 up now with 2 games to go so glad we can't lose the series :)

England just lacked the bowlers in the end, the only time I was really on the edge was when Lewis was bowling, we seem to handle the others reasonable well.

And its always a pleasure to see Inzi SMASH afew 6ers :D

i thought Chris Reed played pretty good against Pakistans bowlers, he always looks lethal out there when runs are needed.

Poor Kamran Akmal hasnt had a very good series with the bat or behind the stumps. Then again im not sure who can replace him!

a better show from england all round, jon lewis continues to look a threat, he's not a long term england prospect oviously at his age but he's a genuinely nice guy and it's great to see him have some success.

we are short a few bowlers, you have to ask, given the total set, if we'd had even flintoff and, say, james anderson back, it could have gone the other way. i think the set up is actually about right, given that flintoff comes back and replaces clarke, mahmood is replaced by anderson and at least one of pieterson and tresco remembers how to bat it'll look a good side

that would also mean england could bat right down the order

also, I'm still saying...chris read for opener ;)

When is Trescothick going to get dropped? He hasn't performed well for me recently at all, both in tests and one day.

he's englands most experienced batsman, has scored over 5000 runs for england and is a senior member of the side, not dropping him when he has a bad patch and continuing to show some faith in him is probably the best thing the selectors can do.

watched the replays this morning and it looks like obvious ball tampering to me, he clearly scrapes his thumb nail across the ball, as usual the ICC will bottle out of doing anything
