England v Pakistan **spoilers**

lmao, reduced to 40 over match now. Wonder if rain will play an important part today ;) again :(

whats up with englands run rate, never seen it this low before

run rate so poor becasue theres no one dominating at top of the order, trescothick is looking v ordinary both in ODI's and tests and strauss is not good enough for one day side. should have picked mal loye at top of order or a a james benning type player quick 30 40 runs to get the team going

England have just been totally outplayed here, they didnt score enough and their bowling attack isnt good enough.

Gotta hope for a lot of rain in the next couple of weeks or we gonna get a caning!

ahem :D

OOOOHHHHHHH pakistan jeetaga pakistan zindabad :)

Not a suprise really as we are just better than england anyway, so its not that big a suprise as we where always going to win,

Anyone who goes on about the test matches is a moron as remember the WC is in odis :D Roffles

always good to watch inzi play, he is entertaining in different ways.

he needs to lose a few pounds so he can run the pitch length, not a yard away from the crease line lol :D

he should have been the man of the match i thought!

Missed the whole game, had work :( but was kept updated throughout and just caught the highlights. Yousuf/Younis/Inzi all looked solid, hopefully they keep it up for the remaining games.

Boycott at the end reckons Pakistan are serious contenders for the world cup next year, I think so too IF this current team stays fit. We are very dependent on Akhtar and Asif. England too have their share of injury problems which is a shame, would have been good to see Flintoff, Jones, Vaughan all in there getting their backsides whooped :p ;)

was a very good game, you can see the highlights after midnight

England were very slow to start were 23-3 after 12 overs,
but picked up the pace when akthar and asif took a break.

Looking hopelessly for a positive side, maybe they'll finally give Jon lewis a run in the side now (not like they have a lot of choice tbh). He deserves it, he may not be that good in terms of the international scene but he's good enough (and he's disposed of my off stump once so believe me I know)

EDIT: To actually comment on the match...both teams started pretty slowly, difference was pak had bowling depth (and batting to an extent) where as they could wait until lewis finished his overs and then take apart everyone else. Chris Read for opener...

2.30 start today.
Gough is out for the rest of the series with a shin injury, gutted for him really as he's desperate to be involved & I think this was his last chance:(
Graham Onions, the latest big cheese from Durham, is in instead. Hopefully he'll be able to cut the mustard:)

lol not watching it unfortunately but keeping up to date on the bbc website. it's really made me smil actually, here's a random quote:

6th over: Strauss enjoyed his stroll down the pitch in the last over so much that he does the same again - and cracks Asif to the midwicket boundary. An old gent in the crowd with a nose like a bruised aubergine enthusiastically waves a cardboard sign.

A decent score for once, although it was a good pitch. On a bad note though some interesting footage of Akhtar appearing to put his nail into the seam of the ball.

We will definately see/hear more about that.

Good total set, which I was hoping for because I would like to see Pakistan regularly chase down scores of 250+ even under the floodlights.

I bet sky havent taken their cameras off the cricket ball ever since the 5th Test!

272 is an above par score for England lately but if Afridi and co get going then they should still be able to get that without to much bother as i'm not convinced Englands bowling attacks up to much.
