I just don't understand why Capello isn't using these players
Hes not on the bench as hes not been playing well after his injury

Why take off Defoe, why not actually try Defoe and Rooney together as a front two and see if they can play that way. It feels like he's set on big man/little man, so played it as a 4-5-1 so Defoe had no chance just to prove he was right, and/or stick Gerrard in the side.
Why change the entire system, try a new player or two in the same system we've been playing and see how they play, otherwise you learn smeg all. Theres a very select few teams who can play a 4-5-1/4-3-3, all of the successful ones have solid defences and insane pace on the wings, we have neither. Chelsea don't have that anymore and looked poor in a 4-3-3 without it and with the same players look hugely stronger in a 4-4-2 again. THeres a reason teams always end up back at 4-4-2 after playing around with a stupid formation for a few years, because everything but 4-4-2 sucks.
