england young team for world cup playoffs

That front 3 is ****.

Why on earth would we wipe the lot
Such a ridiculous suggestion, did you see Germany drop the likes of Klose and Schweinsteiger when they revamped their team? No of course they didn't.

That team would have been absolutely thrashed by both France and Italy if not the other two.

There will be no young team, or squad, with Roy in charge.

Same old same old, don't forget if injury hadn't forced his hand we would have had 2 more 30+ year olds as our back up midfielders in this tournament.

can't argue with that, as per so many previous england managers.

as for the squad pre injuries i'll allow RH that simply because of the fact he had a few weeks to try and sort something out, so always likley to go for experience over new blood.

the fact he took ox and actually played him (alright maybe not as much as he could/should), has give me some hope (however slim) that he might introduce some new players into the run up and into the quallies.

In terms of young players coming through I don't see much strength in depth where England is concerned, not a patch on the "golden generation" and even they haven't achieved much at international level.

I mean looking down that list of players, yes there are some good players, yes there are some promising talents, but I couldn't make a team out of them that would have the likes of Germany crapping their pants, even with a further two years of development under their belts.

My squad for the WC Qualifiers wouldn't be much different from the Euros; a few injuries to slot in but I'd stick to my usual mantra of "if you're good enough, you're young enough".
