English & CL Football [6th - 10th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

I'll reserve judgement until MotD, but it does sound like United got away with a poor performance.

Terrible game, Wolves are complete toilet and any half decent side should have brushed them aside with relative ease.
Baffling starting line up from Ferguson, no coherent game plan at all throughout the entire match, who was supposed to be getting forward with Berbatov? who was supposed to holding? who was supposed to be the out ball for corners, goal kicks and clearances?

Both sides were terrible and Wolves deserved at least a point today as United were the worst by a country mile in the first half, and only slightly better in the second.

I don't think anyone could argue that Wolves deserved that, we had more possession and more shots, it could have been a draw but in the end we had a clinical finish from Scholesy.

Well a typical side set out by Mcarthy trying to stifle a team above them rather than going for a win. As for Utd's performance, I think a little perspective is needed here from some people. Vidic and Ferdinand coming back form Injury, Nani back from Suspension and two strikers in Rooney & Owen out injured.

Give me 9 more scrappy wins like that between now and the end of the season and I will be happy.

Damn it, thought the Spanish league was just about to get VERY interesting, Barca 2-1 down with Ibra sent off for kicking out at someone. Messi just equalised though, not sure if Real Madrid can go ahead later on if they draw.

Ooo, interesting 2 points ahead, 1 worse goal difference than Real.

hehe, Barca with 10 men seem to be having more shots than they were before, Xavi and Messi almost taking the lead.

I watched that match up until half time when it was 1-1. Almeria weren't playing too bad although Barca completed dominated the play with 75% possession. That little forward who plays for Almeria actually looks like a dwarf!

Great free kick by Messi, the keeper was poor although I think he either didn't see the kick until way too late, or he just guessed that there was no way Messi could get it up and down in the short distance. Ibrahimovic had been poor also.

lol, well it finished 2-2, but Real with a perfect home record have conceded in the first 10 minutes to Sevilla, not quite sure whose playing yet, distracted by Sup com 2. Want them to win just to make the league interesting.

Smegging Dani Alves, hate the guy, utter cheat, did a embarassing dive in the box to get a penalty but didn't get carded, I've never not seen him play a game without cheating a lot.

How many chances does Bender want?

Seriously, they are put on a plate for him and he still misses.

Walcott looked half decent on Match of the Day.

Was he DM? Or they just showing us the "good bits" ?

I was at the game and I agreed totally with Shearer. Average first half, very good second half. He definitely should have had two assists had Bendtner actually managed to get something on target. Not surprised he did it himself for the second, he was probably just fed up of his crosses going to waste.

I think Bendtner must have had a bet on him not scoring or something.

As for the Man U game, well, I think they didnt play too well. Wolves deserved something out of that.

AWful first half, truly awful, very effective 15-20mins from start of second half out of nowhere, started to give the ball away more and more easily after that again, though still put some decent running effort in for a change.

He's had great halfs, and games before, if he can play like that 20-30mins in the second half all game, for a few games in a row I'll be happy. The woeful performance in the first half would be unacceptable against a better team though, Burnley are the single worst team away this year with a ruddy leaky and awful defence. 20-30minutes isn't good enough.

Real Madrid came back from 2-0 down to win, completely deserved. In the second half they hit the post once, the crossbar twice, all the posession, all the danger, chance after chance, they managed to squeeze the 3rd in just into extra time.

Level on points but ahead on goal difference, though after they've played the 2nd match with Barca, GD gets dropped and its head to head record, I think they lost 1-0, so they'd need to win by 1 goal to have an even record, or by 2 goals to win the head to head. They've been close all year so there is a half decent chance they could finish on the same points.

Though this point of the year Barca are going off the boil, and Real are coming into form, Barca game is at home for Real(I think) where they have 13 wins in 13 games. La Liga might be very very exciting come the end of the season.
