English & CL Football [6th - 10th Mar 2010] **spoilers**

I think the word hyperbole was invented for your posts!

Walcott wasn't great in the first half but he wasn't awful by any means. I'd suggest Bendtner was awful. His job is to score goals and he missed two absolute sitters.

Yes, he was awful, his control was terrible, passing was constantly back, he was put through, and keep in mind they won't show it all on match of the day, a good half dozen times MINIMUM against a fairly slow left back, he was put WAY through, Eboue and Fabregas peppered that area of the field with balls for him to run on to, he made nothing out of any of them. Several breaking attacks with several options for people to pass to, he got flustered, took too long and ended up passing back to midfield. he was absolutely awful in the first half, if you watched the ENTIRE first 45 minutes you'd know that.

It wasn't the final ball that sucked, he was actively hiding from the ball, Vermaelen and Eboue worked the wing more than once, not because Theo was off anywhere else, just because he wasn't showing for the ball. Theo had the easiest half of his career, he's never at Arsenal had so many good passes to run onto down the wing as in that first half, and he did entirely nothing. He even had a strop because someone went in hard on him, it was a touch over aggressive, but it was one footed and pretty damn standard, he just wasn't in the game at all. Theres getting a few passes or crosses bad but everything else being okay, and theres that first half, where he did nothing right, and ran away and hid because of how ineffective he was. I mentioned earlier, Bendtner ran 2/3rds the width of the pitch to pressure people Theo should have been, but was just standing around not really doing anything.

Bendner is rubbish

Well, he actually missed about 4 fairly easy chances, crap happens, a bad player would get in a good position once and miss it, a good player will consistantly throughout every minute on the pitch be in the right places. He was winning the ball in the air, holding it up when played into his feet, he was passing other players in behind the defence, his link up play with Fabregas and Nasri was very very good. His runs into the box were superb, and his shooting was not working today, though only one, a rising ball went quite a bit over, he missed with shots that went inches wide on about 4 occasions. On another day he'd have gotten 5 goals, if one of the first 2 went in, he'd have ended up with 5.

Then again I can't name a striker who hasn't had a mare of a day with finishing. Not that people remember, RVP missed a ridiculous number of sitters in his first 4-5 games of the season. Bendtners scored in the last two games, he played superbly today except the finishing.

Also despite having a mare of a game in the 6 yard box, he never stopped running, closing down, passing, making the runs into the box.

I do admit I have a soft touch for Bendtner but if anyone was truely awful it was him and not walcott. Bendtner does get into good positions but he is nothing like he used to be in front of goal.

Walcott might not have had the best 90 minutes but he did some great crosses and also scored a goal. He should have had 4 easy assists but they werent put away.

At the end of the day it is Bendtners job to score the goals, i am sure he will come good eventually but his finishing needs improving. He keeps on going on about how he will be the best player in the world yet he needs to keep his mouth shut and let his feet do the talking. You should give credit to Walcott rather than just slating him at every chance. You seem more of a critic of Arsenal than a supporter of Arsenal

Except for your favourite Eboue who can do no wrong . I never see you once slate him for a bad game even when he does some stupid things. Like his poor clearance that lead to the burnley goal. He should have just cleared it but he tried to be clever and duck back in and clear it straight to the other team.

Its funny how Wenger and the England manager see something in him yet you think he is rubbish. I guess thats why they are Professional football managers and you are just a critic. ;)

I would rather have a player who was inactive for most the game and scored/created the goals rather than someone that just got into good positions all day and produced nothing.

Reading 2-0 Villa

Can't see Villa getting much with Heskey and Carew on the pitch. They both have a negative amount of pace to get in behind a stubborn Reading defence.

thevillian2010 will not be a happy bunny :D

Struggling Championship team, not that surprising really.

You see I wouldn't say struggling, I'd just say there aren't many stand out teams in the Championship and the over all level is quite average, so teams win a game and are top half, lose and are looking at a relegation spot.

But compared to a top Prem side, the level of quality is very big.
