English Football [1st - 5th May 2010] **spoilers**

I never thought I'd see Fergie trying to defend a 1-0 lead against ******* Sunderland, how embarrassing. First a striker off or a midielder, then a midfielder off for a defender, then a winger off for a holding midfielder.

And if he doesn't sign a coach that can teach our player how to pass in the summer then he's a fool, Sunderland were ten times better at passing than us.

And Steve Bennett should be fined for that performance. Cattermole should have been off for 2 incredibly late hacks on Nani, instead we didn't even get a freekick. Then Malbranque is allowed to get away with trying to break Evans ankle with no red given, disgraceful.

And what was the point in Hargreaves coming on for ten seconds?!? Never get why managers do that.

In a way I'm glad that we've got the opportunity to win it at SB and if Wigan have the same attitude Sunderland had today then it's not going to be a pushover.
However, if you had a choice of who you wanted to play on the last day to win the PL Wigan would be right up there, just after Liverpool ;)

Well, Sunderland lost, but I was happy with the performance we put in. Losing 1-0 to a world class team and putting in a good effort is fine for me.

Oh please, Nani would go down if you sneezed in his general direction. The tackle by Malbranque was poor, but not intentional or overly dangerous, deserved a yellow but not a red.

Ah well it looks like being Chelsea's title. Still, I think United have done incredibly well this season to remain competitive despite losing arguably their best player in Ronaldo and another key player in Tevez. Most teams who lost two important players like that wouldn't be in with a shout. Even more impressive that United have stayed in it despite all the defensive injury woes this season. This is going to sound like sour grapes coming from a United fan but I genuinely think if the squad had remained unchanged this season United would have walked it.

Fair play to Chelsea for (probably) winning the title, but if I was a Chelsea fan I'd be part happy for winning the title and part concerned about (probably) only edging a pretty average, injury ravaged United by one point!

Well done Chelsea (cant see Wigan getting a point - let alone 3 - at SB on Sunday), you needed a gift from Gerrard to get under way and incompetance from the opposing manager and stupid subs, but they did what they needed to do and won away from home.

Stroll in the park next week - whatever Utd are able to do against Stoke at home.

Berba could easily have had a hat-trick today but surprise surprise he doesnt even score 1. Rooney had a reasonably quiet game but still had two really good chances and same for Giggs

Hope Hargreaves gets a worthy run out next week, totally ridiculous to bring him on for 30 seconds

Edit Nani did well today for the goal, and a couple of other times - but was also dreadfully shocking on a number of other occasions with nieve decision making to say the least

Down a division.

Well done to Blackpool. Bit of a soft spot for the underdog, it's a shame our boys stand in the way, and i have to support my own in forest.

Shame it has to be, id love to see Blackpool make the big league.

You could say that Man.U. fans should be concerned that they may have been pipped to the post by an average Chelsea side who've been injury ravaged all season...

im sure chelsea have also had their fair share of injuries, cole, bosingwa, cech, etc

Likewise, I'd be happy to see Forest or Blackpool come up. Forest because I had a soft spot for them as a child and Blackpool for the "novelty" value. I look forward to seeing either of them playing against my team next season.

Think injury wise it has been fairly even for both teams but I will concede that Chelsea have a far stronger first XI at the moment and that has been the difference, particularly having two decent strikers to rely on.

Some united fans ARE concerned they have been pipped to the post by arguably the worst chelsea side of the past ten years.

You're arguably right on the injuries so it's a moot point.
3 decent strikers really as yet again SFL has contributed over 20 goals :)

True, both teams have had bad injuries. Chelsea do have a much better squad than United at the moment though and I honestly expected them to win by more than one point. I think we can all agree that unfortunately the Premier League as a whole is not what it was last season and the few seasons before that due to Real Madrid and Man City taking players from the 'big four'. Anyway, congratulations to Chelsea, can't see Wigan doing anything next week so think it's all over unfortunately.

Indeed, I think Chelsea have a far far better squad than United and they've narrowly squeezed it by one point. I'm not too disappointed, I just hope they make the needed changes.

Man.U. also have the benefit of having one of the best managers there's ever been who knows the PL inside out & how to play certain teams whereas Chelsea have some n00b who's been caught out a few times tactically and has a feral left eyebrow.
