English League & European Football [27th Mar - 1st Apr 2010] **spoilers**

i put a double on before kick off

liverpool and valencia both to win

odds were 5.5 to 1

looks like its going to be 2 tough games, hopefully benitez sorts the team out, and villa and silva score a few between them

Won't be missed at the back, he gives away needless freekicks, doesn't seem to know where the opposition players ever are and gets skinned a lot.

With regards to the Babel sending off, it was obviously a red (although provoked I supose...) but can anyone remember a while back in the prem when someone threw Lucas down via a push to the face and didn't even get a card (I think)? I remember at the time being quite shocked, trying to remember who it was but I can't remember for the life of me...

I love how ITV where saying that the swipe from behind on Torres could have being a red card! :D

Didn't they say that Messi was "caught" when a similar thing happened last night :p

Babel, silly boy raising your hands! Can't argue with that.

I don't think European Refs are bad, infact I think the opposite, I just think were so used to low standards of reffing and players getting away with far more, compared to European Refs who don't stand for it.

Some lanky **** from Blackburn.

Babel's a dumb **** for getting involved but how the **** did he get a straight red and Luisao not even get a yellow for his part in the handbags (ignoring the fact he should have got a straight red for the initial tackle)?

edit: it was N'Zonzi and he got booked iirc.

Baz87 said basically everything i was going to. The challenge itself is a straight red card offence, a kick from behind that not only missed the ball completely, but missed by such an ammount that it stuck the other leg.

I cant believe people are shocked though, the standard of the officials in the PL, Europe and pretty much all leagues around the world has been astonishingly poor this year. Its almost like FIFA's given orders to cause controversy, afterall football is all about the controversy  according to FIFA. Or was it Platini who said that quote? Hohum.
