English League Football [26th Feb - 2nd Mar 2010] **spoilers**

Out of how many tackles hes broken a leg and an ankle? And everyone bar the Arsenal fans say it was unfortunate to even happen.....

Does this some how make him a dirty player or merely unlucky? These tackles happen all the time they just dont end in the same way.

Having just watched the tackle it seems to be a foul but not completely reckless. Nothing like the eduardo incident. Feel gutted for ramsey and hope that he makes a full recovery.

The Eduardo one was a worse tackle

Your wasting your time trying to convince people here that the Eduardo was a worse tackle...anyone with half a brain can or could see that the Eduardo one was much much worse than the Ramsey one...personally its a terrible accident on both and it sucks it happened to 2 Arsenal players....

I just hope Ramsey can make a full recovery from the injury...Eduardo has been affected his injury from a few yrs ago...you can see he hesitates before going on...even did it tonight as well when he had a chance on goal.

I don't think the challenge was mallicious, just a massive bit of bad luck a'la Eduardo. Hope it's an easy one to recover from like Nasri's, not fair on the kid really, hes too young. Was nice to see the players respond in a more positive way this time though.

Got to say hats off to some of the Arsenal fans on here. Rather than making this a witch hunt they have seen it for what it is.

From what I have seen it was mistimed without malice. How many young defenders make mistimed challenges week in week out ?, it's part and parcel of learning the game. And by that I mean making mistakes is part of learning the game obviously not going out to nobble an opponent.

Hope both make a recovery for very different reasons. Ramsay as he is blossoming into a cracking player. Shawcross who has been, upto now, a pretty clean and competitive young defender who's confidence will be knocked by this.

i dont think it was a sending off, in my opinion the ref saw the break and all the reaction from the Arsenal players (which was fair to be honest) and got out the red.

Shawcross had the ball, Ramsey was going in for it and it was just a mis fortunate incident

Did Shawcross break somebodies ankle a few years ago too? He needs to learn to play and make challenges without causing serious damage.

Not that I know of.

Ryan's a bloody good player and he isn't the type of lad to go diving into tackles or looking to cause harm.

I have never seen Shawcross as a dirty player. I still don't now, although it was a pretty bad tackle in my opinion, I'm sure he did not mean to cause that sort of harm to him, he went off crying, he felt terrible. I hope he makes a full recovery and I hope his career will not be affected,

It took all the fire out of the game for me though, although I am very dissapointed Stoke lost as I thought they had it in the bag.

Congratulation on Shawcross getting pulled up for England though, he is a great player.

Just seen the tackle again on MOTD and it doesn't look like that bad a tackle, not worth a red card anyway. It was just unlucky.

edit: The penalty could have gone either way. On one hand (no pun intended) it wasn't intentional but on the other he's got his arms out to the side with the sole purpose of making himself as big as possible to get past.

You got the arse when I said at the start of the season wigan would be contenders for the drop.

To be fair to them Martinez has done a good job and at the start of the season it looked much more likely they would be in the top 10. With the players lost and what he's been left with I think he's a decent manager.

Pleased about the city result, I'd like them to get 4th.

Lost, half of the players he has brought in, Scotland Gomez are gash. He cant motivate and his style of football is not suiting the team.

Last season with Bruce we played well for half of the season and had a decent team, Bruce goes, we end up with another manager and some new players and start ok and just nose dive.

Watched the tackle on MOTD as well, you can see Ramseys leg/ankle is already some what over he's not upright on it so the leg is going to be weak like that.

Studs stuck in ground = Broken leg

Wonder how long Ramsey will be out for then?

How long was Eduardo out for... Must be gutting for that lad, hopefully he actually makes a 100% comeback, still young so plenty of time I guess.
