English League Football [30th Jan - 3rd Feb 2010] **spoilers**

Well we won yay! :D

Gerrard had a good game today allot better than his last few. Aquaman didnt need to be subbed off i didnt think. And Kiryagos did very well again.

With the exception of the first 5mins of the 2nd half, it was a pretty solid performance from us today. Need to be more clinical though.

Kyriakos looked good again today but as I said after the Spurs game, you've got to take into account who we're up against. Stoke, Spurs, Wolves and Bolton have all just looked to play it long and he's dominated, not so sure I'd want him in defence against Arsenal or City though.

Not sure I want any of our centre backs (maybe apart from DAgger) up against an in-form Arsenal! All too slow on the turn.

Glad B********m and Spuds drew, we gained 2 points on them today which we badly needed. Win our game in hand and we'll go 1 clear of Spurs and 2 ahead of Liverpool. Bloody good result, Fulham are good at home :)

Spurs seem hell-bent on aiding a possible liverpool cl qualification. :(

Zhirkov starting today :). Should be another comfortable win for us.

Just more evidence that we are useless without Lennon, and it looks like another 2 weeks before he returns. :(

On the positive, the Gudjohnsen and Kaboul deals were confirmed today.

With Man Citys next 3 games (Portsmouth, Hull(A) and Bolton) Im getting worried that they actually might hit some form and get a commanding lead for 4th - by far the easiest set of games out of the teams chasing 4th...

When do they play their games in hand?

EDIT: Also thank god Spurs are playing on Wednesday before we meet them on Saturday - hoping Leeds will dish out some physical tackles ;)

ps3ud0

Yup, people seem to forget that if they win their now 3 games in hand, of which the next few are easy as pie, they'll get a pretty decent lead, up to 47 points is it? With Villa on 43/44 after their game in hand.

But then, Liverpool have Euro games to cope with, and Spurs are still in a cup aren't they, or a replay with leeds and maybe games after, while City have very little to focus on, with players coming back from injury and maybe some last minute signings?

You'd have thought beating teams like Hull were "easy as pie", but they didn't. Nothing's a given in football, so never assume.

I didn't, thats why I said IF they win those games, however, those games are easy as pie, they have a far higher probability of winning those three games, than if it was Arsenal, Utd, Chelsea. However, you can still lose easy games to poor teams, because thats life.

However I would be pretty surprised to see them get any less than 6 points out of those 3 games, and that would put them firmly in 4th anyway, the extra game if they win it, would just help give them a cushion.

But they have a very strong squad thats ever improving, with a few additions like Boyata whose looked pretty god damned good, Roque to come back who looked to link up very well with the team in his few appearances with a couple goals, and if they have half a brain a real winger to replace SWP/Petrov.
