English League Football ** spoilers ** [13th - 16th August 2010]

Classic. You still cant do it can you and bad mouth your love child :p

A draw away to Liverpool isnt that bad a result.

Who for Arsenal was better than Eboue then, the completely ineffective Nasri who kept putting through passes to Chamakh he had no chance of reaching, Wilshire who didn't get into the box/forward to support at all, Diaby who didn't get a thing right at all, Arshavin who was also completely useless throughout, Sagna, Chamakh, who wasn't bad, just wasn't give the ball at all. If he was better than them(and he was) thats better than most.

I fail to see where I said he set the world alight, almost scored 8 goals and I can't believe he was taken off, however, when you can sub anyone, taking off the only outfield player closing people down, working hard, working the wing ok, and passing well seems retarded, maybe I'm wrong.

He misplaced very few passes, didn't lose the ball much, actually tried to run forward with the ball.

THere were at least 5 people playing worse who should be subbed first, he was also faster/fitter than Arshavin, Diaby, Nasri who all looked shattered almost from the start so you're saying I'm completely wrong, Eboue was the worst on the pitch and he looked completely shattered?

Arsene did say that who ever starts today would be our #1.

I still can't see this so called beautiful football that we play, it was pathetic and I don't think we deserved a point.

This is the thing, it wasn't pretty, if Arsenal are passing, simply because of how we played 5 years ago people just act like it was this world beating, world class passing.

Up the wing, back to midfield, across, and back again isn't pretty, or world class, its little more than time wasting.

Pretty is in the linking up and passing around players, not hitting a wall and passing around it.

You can find video of the invincibles, and thats how they had played for 5 years before, the quality of that passing and movement is leagues ahead of what Arsenal played today. We had maybe 2 great passing moves the entire game today, it certainly wasn't "pretty" and wasn't deserving of a point let alone a win.

It really irks me when people suggest that crap we played today was the "beautiful game" that we used to play, honestly thats just rude and disrespectful to the players and team we used to have, current side is not a patch on that side.

While you can't really argue that Cole's tackle was reckless and therefore a red card, no doubt we'll see that sort of tackle end up with nothing more than a yellow more often than not.

As for the game as a whole, we actually looked the better side while we were down to 10 men and really should have got the 2nd goal in the first 20mins of the 2nd half. While I never expected to come about as it did (I actually done a Pigeon after the Rosicky save too), you always expected Arsenal would score the longer the game went on.

Taking the positives from the game; N'gog looks better and held his own (especially after the red card) and good to see how the team played even when we went down to 10 men.

Don't want to take anything away from you, it was a good performance and you were the better team, things like from corners you actually looked like scoring almost every time, unlike ours.

But we played Diaby, thats basically an extra man for Liverpool, Arshavin, he looked no where near fit and frankly on this form no one in the league would pick him, Nasri looked shattered for some reason(did he play for France, and most of the preseason games, I think we've shattered him before the season started).

Against fitter and more organised teams liverpool will have a much tougher time than today. I mean, I really only think Chamakh only got on the ball maybe 3 times the whole game, and had to drop to the half way line almost to get it, we just couldn't get the ball anywhere near him all game.

RVP looked on an entirely different wavelength/level to basically the entire team, RVP was the only performance that looked worthy of a top half of the table club today for Arsenal.

I don't even know what to say, I think to list all of Wengers mistakes might break the word limit on a post.

ARshavin, Diaby, Nasri, Wilshire were all dreadful, Eboue looked better than most, not brilliant, but looked fit, fast and full of effort at least. So again Wenger takes off Eboue over Arshavin or Diaby, Diaby went off and we became a completely different team.

4-4-2 if you have good attackers, 4-5-1/4-3-3 if your attack is balls and you want to defend a game out. WE can't defend, Almunia is a joke, Diaby in any defensive capacity , or footballing capacity is a joke.

Diaby for RVP, switch to 4-4-2, Eboue into the middle, Rosicky for Arshavin, Nasri further back would have been the way to go.

How can Diaby still start games, he is by far our worst player, he gets in the way in defensive situations, he screws up at the majority of offensive and defensive corners, his passing is woeful, he actively drags the team down.

As I've said, anyone who actually thinks Wenger has improved the team or has a shot at the title this year is completely deluded.

We won't have Kos for the next game, Djourou, I don't even want to know what would have happened today with Djourou alongside the ridiculously stupid Sagna, who for the 58th game in a row managed to do a ridiculous header to put us into serious pressure for no reason at all.

Theo, did his usual, comes on, 30seconds of effort, dissappears, then gets on the end of a good pass and fluffs up his cross/pass. In the dying seconds he elected, with RVP and someone else completely open just approaching the penalty spot, with no Liverpool players in the way to not make the incredibly simple pass to RVP, instead he chipped it, and attempted to get it to one Arsenal player, beyond the back post, with 4 liverpool players inbetween and the keeper. He's just so entirely stupid he won't ever be effective.

We were a man up and looked significantly worse in the 2nd half, we made all the wrong subs, AGAIN, we took off the best players and left on the rubbish, AGAIN, we started too many of our weakest players, AGAIN, we played the wrong formation, AGAIN. In a tough game we switched to 4-4-2 towards the end and became an infinately bigger threat, AGAIN.

For the 5th year in a row, Wengers failed to notice any of that and continues to screw Arsenal consistantly making ridiculous choices in team selection, formation and substitutions.

TO win the league we need, a Keeper, 2 dm's, 2 cb's, a right back, and a couple of wingers.

Why not Gibbs to start over Diaby, Gibbs who is fairly defensive, has pace to burn, is good going forwards, played loads in preseason, is again one of our fitter players. Instead we played Diaby, hopeless in every area of his game, hasn't played a minute in preseason, isn't even close to match fit, why, just why?

Arshavin was awful, I'd agree, he has admitted himself that he is out of form and I think a spell on the bench might just be a good idea, Rosicky looked much sharper when he came on, and I'd like to give him a run in the first team to see if he can recapture his form.

Diaby I agree with you, I'm not sure how he is a starter, he is a good squad player to have, one you can rely on for the less important games, but he should not be starting away at Anfield.

Nasri was in my opinion our best player, he looked far more dangerous than anybody else we had, although he did fade in the second half.

Wilshire was not bad at all, how can you criticise a 17 year old playing his first premier league game for Arsenal away at Liverpool? What did he do wrong? He played the simple ball, held possession well, wasnt afraid to get stuck in? Don't get me wrong, it wasnt a man of the match performance but for you to call it terrible makes me wonder what you expected.

Eboue was his usual self, good build up play, complete lack of end product and throwing himself down as soon as somebody comes within 5 yards of him. How you can say Eboue had a better game than Nasri or Wilshire is beyond me? Unless of course, you're saying that Eboue played well for the poor player he is, where as Nasri and Wilshire were only average for the able players they are.

He was the one who lost the ball that lead to the goal.

I was going to predict that we'd beat Newcastle 2-0 tomorrow but I don't want to do a pigeon. So I won't be making that prediction anymore. Instead, I'll just comment on the Liverpool game today...

at least it wasn't another beachball incident. :p
