The Hart save wasn't good, it wasn't bad but Hart went to his left before Cesc even hit the ball, he made a 50/50 gamble(well a bit less than 50) and Cesc really didn't do well.
Still not that happy with Wenger, Bendtner and Theo could have come on 20 minutes earlier, saved some legs, Fabregas took quite a beating in the first half, he'll NEVER stop running and put in a nice run at the end, but he's only recently back from injury, 20mins less couldn't have hurt. Also though Arshavin off instead of one of our Denilson/Song was asking for trouble.
Song gets booked almost every game, I think he won maybe one real tackle today and commited loads of fouls, his passing was poor and at one stage of the second half he went on his "i'm gonna play as a second striker" rampage. Ok, he got a goal, it wasn't even that bad, it was lucky the ball ended up there, but he didn't go off on his own because we were a man up, he's done this in loads of games.
His complete lack of discipline will cost us heavily(as it has done many many many times already). Boyata, hmm, I'm not a fan of the ten men is better than 1-0 down, at home, with the entire game to go it was madness, completely changed the game.
Yaya wasn't remotely comftable at CB, he's very, lazy seeming, doesn't concentrate every second and didn't mark Arshavin in the box for the first goal.
We played ok, Djourou still looks like a haphazard moron even though the "foul" he got a yellow for was pathetic, standing near another guy who decides to sit down = a foul these days apparently.
Ultimately it was the moment when Song became the "second striker" that highlighted why we really need to play 4-4-2, you need that second striker to pick up those "easy" goals and to provide an outlet, we created very few real chances today. Djourou screwed up Sagna's great cross, with a fairly easy header.
Arshavin was yet again largely a passenger and there was SO many times today Chamakh pointed to whoever had the ball, made the run and was ignored, Nasri, Song, Denilson ignored his runs almost the entire game, which meant Chamakh was largely uninvolved. Bendtner, good goal, barely 10 minutes just isn't enough time to gain match fitness, though confidence, maybe. Theo had one cross really to do something with, and it was crap.
I'd also say, Fabianski didn't make any mistakes, but of the 3 shots he saved, none were even close to as hard as Gray made out.
The first Silva one was a pass, very slow, pretty standard, the one he tipped wide was fairly easy aswell, the Adebayor one, it was right at him, though he did do well as it was close AND he got power/direction on the ball to push it wide of the goal aswell which is what made it his best save, you see loads of those just parried and drop right down to some one who taps it in.
Its hard to judge the game, City play in a defensive side that needs heavy midfield support to overwhelm the opposition, with one of the workhorse men gone, they offered incredibly little going forwards. I think Arsenal frankly didn't create enough considering the situation but we still won, with some good goals, and its FAR more than I hoped for before going into the game.
