English League Football ** spoilers ** [6th - 10th November 2010]

Barry Glendenning on the Guardian football weekly really having a go at Manchester City

Most of them are to be honest.

Did everyone see the Rio/Tevez pic in the sun yesterday, I kept meaning to mention it, was fantastic, but better today is a story with Rio saying the picture was hilarious and they added a second potentially better version of the picture from a different angle.

If you haven't seen it, it rather looks like Tevez has his fist shoved somewhere the sun don't shine. LIkewise Rio has a grimaced look on his face, I'd assume linking to The Sun is a bit........ dubious at best on here.

Yeah I posted it on the page before this one.

Pederson elbowed Barton, and he got what he deserved. You can't just elbow someone and not expect a reaction. Barton was provoked, nobody can see this?

And Henry tackle on Arshavin was dreadful, and yet MOTD failed to even show it.

Henry should be banned for life, how many dreadful tackles will he get away with? He already has broken legs, please someone stop him from breaking another!

Pederson brushed past Barton, if anything it was the air he moved walking past him that touched Barton.

Barton is just a nobber and punched him. I honestly struggle to understand why football clubs employ such people.

should have police charges brought up. some people don't deserve 3-4-5 chances at a profession most people would love to do.

Apparently Lee Dixon tweeted that they "didn't have time to show it".

Fabregas' tackle was worse on this occasion though - Henry is no saint but you see tackles like that in every game.

Your Friday nights in the pub must be interesting :p

Exactly, it should also be pointed out that Pederson was walking slowly and away from the incident Barton ran much further to get himself involved ie Barton made special effort to go right past Pederson, who himself made entirely no effort to walk into Barton, and thats ignoring the all saying of, two wrongs don't make a right.

Punching someone for their shirt assaulting your shirt, is so wildly over the top as to be a joke.

Fabregas's tackle wasn't worse, Henry's tackle you see every week, and thats why theres a red card doled out most weeks.

Both Cattermole and Fabregas's tackles were very unlucky, you see Fabregas foot hit the floor bounce up and catch the top of Ward's ankle, key point, hit the ground, Cattermoles foot is actually pretty low, hits the ball clearly and miles before Modric is even there, his foot bounces up off the ball and hits Modric. I mean Wards foot is sideways and on the ground, fabregas catches his ankle, you're talking about 3 inches off the ground, maybe.

Henry went in over the top, his foot was never on the floor, it was never low, it never hit the ball and being that both players were opposite directions making it an incredibly dangerous tackle full stop, straight red, no questions. He caught Arshavin WAY above his ankle, hard to guess because he's such a short arse, but he caught Arshavin half way up his shin, somewhere around a foot off the ground, to suggest thats less bad that Fabregas's is a complete and utter joke.

Fabregas/Ward going same direction, up till the contact, both players commited to the exact same challenge in the same way.

Henry's was probably the worst tackle that happened all weekend, Essiens was the most dangerous purely because had he made contact two foot all weight one leg, it wasn't malicious, just utterly stupid. Fabregas's was the most innocuous, almost every weekend a dozen times two people will run at a loose ball, slide in with nothing happen to either player.
