I'd say EPL is the most entertaining in the world and most well known. That makes it the best. Even if it doesn't have all the best players in the world. Also, English league teams are just 1 away from the Spanish teams in championship league victories.

Italy are on 12 too. Poor at present we may be but ignored we shouldn't be.

I also disagree with the notion that being the most entertaining (which I actually don't find it to be but that's all subjective) and being the most well known makes it the best. I'd just go by the quality which in general across the big three leagues is relatively even. Swings and roundabouts on this I suppose - we all look for different things.

It's not easy and certainly doesn't happen overnight. When Wenger came here he said that the youth set-up in this country was a mess and it'd take at least 10 years to see any improvement. 12/13 years on and we're starting to see the likes of Gibbs and Wilshere (good technical, European style players) trickle through, but that's just Arsenal, I doubt the other clubs are as obsessed with youth development as Wenger has been in the last 10 years.

Dont barca spend around 4-5x more on the youth side of things than the EPL clubs?

Look at the quality if players that come through those ranks...
