Apologies for posting this thread so far in advance, it might be the only time I get to do it. :)

Hopefully there are no games postponed this weekend! :p

Thanks for making the extra effort with the little images and TV/Radio listings. It definitely helps lazy people like me who can't be arsed to go through the TV guide. :)

Torres out for 6 weeks, Benayoun out for 3 - 4 weeks and Gerrard for 2 weeks according to the results of scans (reported on Sky Sports news)

So we don't have an attack? :(

Reina (GK)
Degen (RB)
Carragher (CB)
Agger (CB)
Insua (LB)
Lucas (DM)
Mascherano (DM)
Kuyt (RM)
Auilani (AM)
Aurelio (LB)
Ngog (S)

Not including Kuyt, who I class as a defensive attacker, we've got a grand total of 2 attacking players. Maxi is going to have to come straight in and hit the ground running.

Who was it in the FA cup thread that said Torres and Gerrard were definately not injured and that Benitez was just pretending to play a full strength side against Reading?

Its still possible they'll make a miraculous recovered right before a huge game so the other side are surprised, but I don't see it. Seem's rather odd that Torres needs a surgery and 6 weeks out, for something that after happening he apparently played on for several minutes, didn't go down, didn't need treatment and he walked off without a really visible problem though.

Weather forecast doesn't appear to be too bad for the weekend, less below freezing night temps, no more snow(probably) but heavy rainfall predicted for Saturday at least around here(london). Hopefully games will have less ice around stadiums so we get less games called off.

Liverpool can kiss goodbye to any aspirations of a top 4 finish, it just isn't going to happen now especially with the likes of Man City and Villa on decent runs. They need a miracle. So we're half way through the transfer window and Utd haven't signed anyone or even look remotely like signing anyone. Great stuff. It's not like we need any new players is it...

This weekend could be very interesting.

Would you like to add Spurs to that :p

Got tickets for the Spurs -v- Hull game. Looking forward to that. Hopefully 3 points but Hull are a little unpredictable. Be good to see Nick Barmby at the Lane :)

I really don't understand this waiting till the last day of the transfer window, more teams have been screwed by being unable to agree a fee or not having time to finish a deal than have saved more than a couple quid. But if you get someone in on Jan 1st, they might play in 5-6 games before the transfer window is open, it could be the difference between the title, and 2nd, or winning a cup and being out of the cup.

This insistance on waiting till the last second hoping for a better deal seems nuts.

Seems to me last season we could have got Arshavin for 15mil in the summer, 15 mil at the start of the Jan transfer window and we came within a few minutes of missing out on the deal to end up paying, 15mil for him.

Utd might just not be looking to buy, I get clubs that aren't buying with a lack of money, but when the season can be won and lost by one extra loss, it seems silly to waste a month of having a new player haggling over a few quid, I've yet to see a deal where someone dramatically dropped their price in the final day of the window.

Babel hasn't been included in the squad for the game against Stoke. I had hoped it was because he's close to being sold but he said he didn't know why he wasn't selected on his Twitter account, class :o

A few more of the players should be coming out apologising too.
So we don't have an attack? :(.....

Given the form of Gerrard and Yossi, we've only really lost Torres (and Johnson if you count him) from our attack.

Also I'd be shocked if Carra isn't playing RB and Skrtel coming in at CB. It's something we've done in the past (with Hyypia rather than Skrtel) when coming up against teams like Stoke in the past even without our rb problems. Got a feeling that Aquilani's going to sit it out after playing 120 mins on Wednesday with Kuyt off N'gog and Maxi on the right. Wouldn't rule out Riera coming in on the left too, preferably with Aurelio dropping back to LB (Insua looks shot to bits) but it might be a bit too early for him.

I'm relying on the hope that their players won't grasp this crazy new "pass" concept their new boss is trying to teach them.
