English League Weekend Football 16-18th January *spoilers*

No Torres, Gerrard, Benayoun and Mascherano :o

I'm dreading this Stoke game. I have no doubt the players will be running out fired up to the max. However like previous games, once the opposition threaten our weak defense and few other mistakes happen, then its like the whole team inverts on itself and we turn to crap.

Whats important today is giving a performance. Yes we've got to get the 3 points absolutely, but if we can do it with a confident and well executed display, then that will go a long way to helping us out.

Rafa's gone all out attack

Reina
Degen
Skrtel
Carragher
Kryrgiakos
Insua
Mascherano
Lucas
Aurelio
Kuyt
Ngog

6 defenders and 2 defensive midfielders

****! I got excited when I scrolled down, only saw the top line first

Erm, is Agger injured? He didn't have too bad a game against Reading and considering Skrtel came on to no effect why has Agger been dropped for a big lump of Greek.

5-4-1?

SSN are ripping Rafa to pieces. Aquilani played 120 minutes midweek and looked spent and now they're saying he's been dropped because Rafa doesn't rate him

Edit: Nice to see Thommo speak his mind about Babel :D

Towel drying or not, why on earth is Delap allowed about 10 seconds to take the throw? If another player just stood there for that amount of time he'd get the throw going the other way.

I'm sorry but that shouldn't be allowed, using a towel to dry the ball so you have more grip to throw it...

Can't see why not, considering keepers, for decades have taken a towel over with them to the goal, good for them, throw in takers should be allowed them. If you're losing a game because of a towel, its your own fault, not the towels.

The problem for Liverpool is they have been woeful defending set pieces, and having that good a throw in taken is like doubling/tripling your effective corner set pieces.

It's time wasting more than anything, and I've not seen many keepers spend 20 seconds drying a ball before, and if they did they'd likely see a yellow card for it and rightly so. Delap week after week goes through his little ball drying ritual with all his towels spread around the pitch. It shouldn't be allowed. They should bring in a rule that you've 5 seconds to take the throw in or something along those lines.
