English League Weekend Football 16-18th January *spoilers*

Andy Gray saying that's a pen...what a ****.

He was going down before he was even tackled.

SSN are ripping Rafa to pieces. Aquilani played 120 minutes midweek and looked spent and now they're saying he's been dropped because Rafa doesn't rate him

Edit: Nice to see Thommo speak his mind about Babel :D

He did play the full match, and to be fair, he did naff all and looked like a total lightweight.
Maybe its lack of games this season so far, but he looks completely uninspiring at the moment.

His control and passing was very good when he had time and space but he looked awful when pressurised. I'm sure he'll get better once he gets used to the pace of the English game and gets some match sharpness.

Agree about him looking lightweight though which is very worrying. Having said that he's been played as a DM which clearly isn't his game.

I thought Sorro was one of the best in the prem? his clearances are terrible.Liverpool have weathered the storm so far, but they have nothing up top and nothing through the middle, somebody needs to put the foot on the ball and calm things down.Stoke are capable of nicking one.

Lucas has looked ok surprisingly.

Apart from 1 or 2 balls, everything to Ngog has been hoofed up the field to him and when you've got Huth over you're shoulder you aren't going to win much.

Insua seems to have carried on with his current form, or lack of.

Pretty happy with that considering our fortunes of late. While we've not created much in front of goal we've defended very well and coped with everything stoke have literally thrown at us.

I'd expect to see a couple of attacking players brought on sometime in the second half probably around 60 and 75 minutes in the hope of nicking it 1-0.

Agree. Ngog's had no support from Kuyt and keeps getting muscle out. Riera on for Inusa and drop Aurelio back to LB would be a wise decision.

The storm?

Both sides seem to be pretty impotent at the minute, hopefully Liverpool bring on Riera and or Maxi, maybe even Pacheco and add a bit of creatvity. Stoke have already made 2 changes so they're more or less stuck with what they've got.

Oh course it makes a difference that he is falling over before he gets tackled!!

Shut the **** up Dublin.

It is a penalty. It's identical to Rooney's against Arsenal in August - if that was given, which it was, this should have been as well.

Typically, there is no consistency.

Well the long balls to test Pepe, they aint got much else as a team.

Its disapointing when you look at the bench, those player would give us so much more creativity, why Aurelio is being kept on as a left winger i'll never understand, that said, Riera is comign back from an injury.

With our injury problems I'd like us to play:

Reina

Aurelio Carra Agger Degen/Kelly

Riera Masch Aquilani Maxi

Ngog Pacheco

Lets face it, this season is total write off for us now, lets blood players like Pacheco. I'd even recall Nemeth.
