Time to walk. He put all his eggs in one basket by playing so many defensive players and we still conceded. Not good enough.

We're going to get gang raped against Spurs :(
 
Really got to feel for Benitez. Remember this is a team he has inherited, not one he has made himself and has had no money to spend :p
 
Meh a better performance than some of last games but still becomes another crap result! I wont go into the debate about the penalty as we had time to try for another regardless.

All i hope is that in honesty this season ends pretty quickly for a change. Best players for us were Kyrgos(SP he really should have a proper name!) Ngog did naff all had no service from kuyt what so ever.

Kuyt was very unlucky but in honesty should have burried all our players are messing chances like that too often! =(
 
Happy with a point at the end. Liverpool should have had a penalty but they scored off a free kick that was not a foul. Thank god the chance at the end fell to Kuyt. :D
 
Heart broken really :(

Can honestly say they pulled out a team performance today, none of that head down, shun responsibility type attitude, they all really did have a go. Feel sorry for the players tbh.

Thought Kyrgiakos was our man of the match, with Reina close behind. Lucas also played well.

Thats going to hurt more than the last few performances put together. Gutted :(

Cant agree more , gerrard looks like he dont want to be there no more like a lot of other players.

Gerrards loyalty will only stretch so far me think can see him leaving if they dont get top 4 place.

I think they have done whats gotten Pompie into trouble. While Pompie have gotten loans and funded transfers on future ticket sales and tv money to keep Redknapp with a constant stream of new players, Liverpool clearly borrowed against this decades luck in the last decade. A CL title and a 2nd place last year and now they've got no new luck for another 10 years.

I was reading something and only just caught the replay of Kuyt's shot at the end, was it actually incredibly unlucky like it was a very very difficult shot from miles out wide of the goal, or was he right in the middle of the goal and it was actually quite crap of him to miss?

One more win for the Brum now and they drop Liverpool another place and edging towards a tough fight to stay in the Europa league let alone the CL.

EDIT:- Did Maxi do anything at all except meekly run into players and lose the ball? THe one stand out attempt with two people waiting in the box with a semi break on, he cut outside and just showed no acceleration at all and the stoke defender just stepped across and took the ball, is Maxi just a completely shot player?
 
As Pigeon killer said when Gerrard/Torres have played imo compared to this game when they have been in the team the matches before this were worse. The team selected by rafa put out the best effort any other team selection has in the last few matches.

The bottom line is Benitez can't be our manager next season because if he is I think most of our decent players will leave in the summer, so the board need to bite the bullet and give him his payout, if we can't get a top manager right now wait until the end of the season and bring someone in then, we need someone that can convince the likes of Torres and Gerrard to actually stay.
 
See if the reports our true about us spending big in summer why not use that money for a payout as i doubt its true but hiddick at liverpool would be rather awesome.

Cause what ever rafa is attempting to say to the players isnt sticking clearly, Gerrard has been so loyal to liverpool but any footballer wants trophies and an idea that the squad is improving and for amount of tosh rafa has bought it cleary aint happening =(

Also the fact rafa did leave babel out was annoying okay i dont rate him highly but he is one of the few attacking options we have

Now if all the rest of results are a draw i suppose that would suit us slightly lol

I described Benitez yesterday as a dead man walking. I think the damage is done and regardless of whats achieved (or not achieved) by him this season, its now just merely a question of time. Confidence is rock bottom and that confidence has to be restored. I suspect that it will take a new face and new ideas at the helm to get that.

My recommendations would be, Benitez to go (pushed or walked), Dalglish to be appointed caretaker manager til the end of the season, Hiddink then to take over on a 3 or 4 year contract. Carragher to retire from playing next year, or year after and then be an understudy to Hiddink until Hiddink retires. Then Carragher to take over as manager (if he proves decent).

The idea of Carragher as a manager scares me slightly, can you imagine the amount of own goals we'd score :)
