English League Weekend Football 16-18th January *spoilers*

See if the reports our true about us spending big in summer why not use that money for a payout as i doubt its true but hiddick at liverpool would be rather awesome.
Hicks only claimed the club would spend big after his son resigned the day before. PR bull**** and nothing more.

Regarding Hiddink, we need a manager who'll be with us long term not a few seasons at best. He's nearly 64 and his best years are behind him imo.

I described Benitez yesterday as a dead man walking. I think the damage is done and regardless of whats achieved (or not achieved) by him this season, its now just merely a question of time. Confidence is rock bottom and that confidence has to be restored. I suspect that it will take a new face and new ideas at the helm to get that.

My recommendations would be, Benitez to go (pushed or walked), Dalglish to be appointed caretaker manager til the end of the season, Hiddink then to take over on a 3 or 4 year contract. Carragher to retire from playing next year, or year after and then be an understudy to Hiddink until Hiddink retires. Then Carragher to take over as manager (if he proves decent).
Spot on. Although I doubt Hiddink would come to us.

As it stands there is no way we'll keep Torres. I've also never seen Gerrard look so deflated, its a crime that he hasn't won more as a player. Wouldn't blame him at all for wanting to go in the summer. We've got to much baggage in the squad that needs weeding out and someone to bolster confidence and install a belief that there is a future at Liverpool.

You're possibly right there.

The name of the manager is interchangeable, to be honest I think we might struggle to convince any high quality manager to join us at this moment in time. Hiddink isnt really the one I would want, but trouble is there is absolutely no chance of us getting the one that I want as he has his eyes set firmly on something else :)

Mourinho ruled himself out until we get new owners that can compete with Chelsea and Man City. That says volumes about him tbh so I'm glad he won't be joining us. Really don't know who I'd like to replace Rafa.

slightly off topic on Rafa. Any news when Hargreaves is returning for us ?

Well he's apparently training right now, still to play his first reserve match but I really don't hold much hope for him playing in the first team for another few months, that is if he doesn't break down in training or during a reserve match. :( Should that happen I reckon we'll be putting in an insurance claim.

He's back in training. Will be a massive boost for unites in the middle. Would like to see him and Anderson get some games together, could play 3 in the middle with fletcher or carrick.

Sunderland are getting absolutely thwacked, what the heck happened to them after the first couple months of the season. Someone in particular get injured, defender missing or something, turned to utter crap of late.

Damn, having seen the replay of Cashleys goal, was pretty damn classy, great change of direction taking the defender out and a great flick over/round the keeper.

EDIT:- 4-0 Lampard goal, this could be one of those games, didn't look like that great an attack, it was far from undefensible, Sunderland just not even remotely useful in defence.
