English League Weekend Football 8-12th January *spoilers*

If Everton had any pace up front Arsenal could be a big trouble today. Countless times Everton have had chances to break from around the half-way line but end up having to just hold the ball up and waiting for support.

Which is basically what happens when we aren't playing the bottom 8(except West Ham). Traore has again been dismal, he is beaten so easily, he actually looks semi muscular, not massive but doesn't show any strength, seems weak in the tackle when he's forced, despite being very fast really doesn't use it smartly, doesn't read the game, the amount of times really anyone has just brushed him aside.

The classic issue this and last year, certain players are soooo slow on the ball deciding what to do who just stand around moving slowly closing the space and then passing 5 years, when any team has pressed us hard, we're given no time, our midfield turns into a pile of mush.

Not a great display from Arsenal, clearly missing players like Fabregas and RvP on days like this where there is no space. Everton are defending well but they won't keep it up for 90 minutes, chances will come at the end, is Walcott on the bench?

Anybody else notice how amazing Nasri's close control is? Even when he surrounded he always comes away with the ball, he's like a less penetrative Messi

He really lacks the pace of someone like Messi so even if he beats one he won't pull away, then when he needs to beat another one, slows down slightly to change direction he's got two/three people on him by that point. If he had pace he'd be truly superb, still great foot control though.

Managed to watch it so far at "work".

Not a great start by Arsenal. Lacking some killer instinct and ideas up front. Everton have been the better team but luckily we are still level. Time for Eduardo to step it up a bit.

Jesus, Diaby really is a pathetic moron, he just ran down the wing, Arshavin onside, tonnes of room ahead, simple pass, ignored it for about the 10 seconds it was on, ran inside directly into a player and lost it. They are constantly trying to get it up the pitch quickly and we just jog up the pitch, pass slowly, pass sideways across midfield, Eduardo and Arshavin are passengers as they aren't being passed to at all.

We had one attack right after the restart that Ramsey got a long ball up the wing from Sagna burst forward and Eduardo made a run across the box, but Ramsey held it up, turned back and passed it infield, the cross would have gone in to 4 defenders and two attackers, after turning back it was mabye 3 attackers and 8 defenders in the box.

Arsenal rarely counter attack anymore, which doubles how hard it is to get in the box.

WE make it through poor defences without issue, these games, well one massive deflection has us level, few other real chances in the game so far. Time and time again, and just again Diaby gets the ball and runs into trouble without thinking.

EDIT:- Rosiky, Vela, Silvestre, Merida the main guys on the bench, need to go back to 4-4-2, Diaby for Rosicky Vela for Ramsey, Arshavin/Nasri on the wings with Vela/Eddie up top is about the best we can do. Probably do the usual, wait to be 2-1 down before making the changes.

You can be so depressing always looking on the negitive side of things. Its only a game chill out a little.

I think this long break without a game has dampened our spirits a little. Hopefully we can put a strong finish to the game and nick the three points.

DM, try supporting your team for once. Who knows you might actually like it :D

Fellaini is proving to be a rock for Everton at the mo. He is winning 50/50's every time.

Yup, he was the biggest miss when we trashed them, he was over half a stone down after a serious illness in the previous few weeks, he was almost literally not existant in that game, weak, lost everything and he was their key player last year.

The problem is, its not one game, this same problem happens every single time we play anyone decent, the exact same problems every single time for 2 years that are blatantly obvious and we constantly ignore.

I NEVER complain about a single poor performance, but unlike other gooners here I tend to not turn around my entire opinion of a player like Diaby for 2-3 good performances against the bottom 3. This would be Diaby's 40-50th utterly useless game in the past few years, I judge him on that, not the 2 half decent performances again West Ham with a half reserve team out, or Pompie, twice. Other Arsenal fans though Diaby was awful, then great for one game, then awful for 5 games, then he's fantastic again. I don't think I've ever had a kneejerk reaction to a single bad performance, ever, while most other fans on here do it every game.

On that note, in the transfer thread gooners have been saying Merida can go for all they care, he was crap in the last game. He wasn't great, but he was superb in his previous 3 performances, he's a great player with a huge load of potential who was playing in a strange new team and wasn't at his best, for one game, My opinion was based on his season which has been incredibly positive, theres is kneejerk on the last performance only. WE shouldn't be losing a player, whose free to keep and on low wages when our squad needs players coming through.

As for supporting my team, I complain about less players than other Arsenal fans, I'm the only gooner here and anywhere else I know thats been saying we have a title winning team and have had for 4 years, I'm one of the few that thinks Eboue, Bendtner, Eddie, Vela, Merida and others are very good.

Theres 3 players I complain about, and in every single big game all 3 are horrific. I support my TEAM fully, not the mismanagement of that team, and not the poor players who can't cut it against decent opposition.
