Enoch Powell Documentary. My opinion has been changed.

I think in part it was projecting his own opinions on to the widespread populace, and therefore imagining himself in a country where he was the minority but ran by a majority who also held his opinions - and rather than examine and address the merits of those opinions in light of that (which admittedly were fairly widespread at the time, and he could perhaps be forgiven for thinking that would inevitably be the case), instead elected to advocate controlling the circumstances to suit those opinions - the 'easy' option perhaps.

It makes sense really - if you have no problem with people of different colours/cultures etc, then you'd also think that they had no problem with you - so why would you be afraid of them living in your country or 'outnumbering' you? And vice versa.
 
Enoch Powell opposing the race relations act and therefore keeping it legal to discriminate based purely upon ethnicity/skin colour/religion is ridiculous. Restricting social mobility would have been one of the worst things for this country to embark upon.

So, to clarify what I read as your point, a multiculture occurs where each culture involved integrates towards a new point of stability?

Sounds lovely, though I'm not quite sure what the resultant culture would look like, given the cultural makeup of England today. (What is the cultural makeup of England today?) :confused:

Well, the UK is already a multicultural society. It's just not very well integrated in some places, that's all.

Looking at those figures, I think a lot of people would be amazed to realised that the current population is 85% White British (despite frantic, misleading claims by the Telegraph and Daily Mail) It certainly blows away all the xenophobic scaremongering we've heard in recent years.

Powell was 100% correct. We have so called British people bombing our own country, seperate community's, no-go areas for whites, illegal immigrants roaming free. Maybe not directly related we have kids shooting and stabbing each other.

At work ethnics are employed over whites that have the same level of qualification and experience, that's racist!

I don't mind if everyone is treated the same, with the same laws, the same race relations act/legislation. This is not the case and I feel as a native english white male that I am unfairly racially discriminated against, but no one seems to care.

Im going to emigrate 2008/2009, I understand this is kind of an oxymoron but this country has gone down hill so much that I'm considering denouncing my citizenship in the near future.

This has nothing to do with Powell's prediction. The 7/7 bombers were second- and third-generation Brits with immigrant ancestry; they were not immigrants themselves. Illegal immigrants are a problem, but you can't blame the government for it. White kids shoot and stab each other too, you know.

Are they? How often does this occur? I am not in favour of "positive discrimination" myself, tbh. But if you think it's occurring, you can raise a claim of racial discrimination.

How are you racially discriminated against? Have you had jobs and/or services refused? Have you been denied a seat on a "non-whites only" bus? Have you been racially abused in the street?

Where will you go? I'd retain British citizenship if I were you; it's your passport to Europe, via EU membership. Never a good idea to give that up. :)
 
I think poeple loose sight that we live in very pleasant times in which multiculturism seems to work. The problems will start when hard times come, when oil peak realy starts to kickin. Mass job loses, food shortages and politician looking for someone to blame other than themselfs. Will never happen in our life time? We are fight for oil right now......

I guess that's irrelevant for the most part, as the European and South African immigrants are mostly white anyway.
