Enshrouded

My main base has remained in the starter area, but the Altars make it easier for Fast Travel, but not got too far into the game in terms of unlocked territory.

Rented a dedicated server to see how it performs/quirks.

I recommend this simple re-shade mod to reduce the brightness in the game.

Very easy to extract the ini file to the game root. Install the re-shade program and just select the re-shade file during the install.

Is anyone playing this single player?
Similar to Valheim I played through as a single player. In Valheim I built outposts near the next boss. So far in Enshrouded I've stayed amongst the rocks near the start area cliff edge.

I've tried to balance the build and adventure so I can discover some base additions and then add an expansion with the new discoveries.

Heard one of the problems of dedicated servers is that if a quest is done by one player it's completed for everyone, hope they sort that out. Only thing putting me off getting one.

Valheim on our server we just build outposts in interesting spots for resources and portals near bosses. Waiting on Ashlands now though as we've done everything.

The one thing which is holding me off playing it deeply, is the way that terrain modification resets. I would much prefer it if I could leave my mark on the world permanently, would love for that to change but unfortunately I dont think that they will be able to implement that.

I don't see why not, if it's your server, let you do what you want with it just like Minecraft etc.

Reset of terrain is limiting, although not a game breaking issue like quests being done for everyone if one person on the server does it.

You might already be aware, but the terrain only resets outside of your base areas. Inside will stay as you changed it.
Yeah its outside your area only but its still very immersion breaking for me, if I mine out a tunnel through an area or dig away at ground, I want that to remain there, not all just reappear untouched again. I want it to remain , like it does in Valheim, so that I visually see how I change the world. Same with the chests respawning, I'd like an option for them to not respawn, it dents my immersion somewhat (in an otherwise immersive game), that I loot a chest and log out , come back the next day and there we go, loot back in the chest again. Hopefully they can make some sort of persistence toggle option so that I can opt to have it that we change the world as we go

Can’t see that ever happening… there’d be nothing left eventually in larger groups?
It works well in Valheim but I imagine thats because Valheim is a procedural generated world which goes on and on, so you can never run out of stuff as long as you are willing to go further out from your bases. With Enshrouded being a limited map size and being hand crafted rather than procedural, it does make it pretty tough to have the world allow persistent changes without running out of resources. Though maybe they could allow resources to respawn but allow terrain deformation to stay and be persistent at least.

Yea agreed, totally with you on the stance. Was just putting it out there in-case :)
