Enshrouded

Is anyone here having issues with playing this online? I've tried hosting a server and joining a friend on theirs but it's unplayable. If they join me, they see me floating in the air, or standing still even though I'm doing things. Then if I join them, we have the same issue. But we load up any other game and it works flawlessly, so it can't be a network issue.

Really want to get into this!

Picked this up without reading up too much or playing the demo, enjoying it so far!

I'll probably get this at some point to play with friends, so will keep an eye on it. We're currently playing Valheim, which this looks similar to. I tend to struggle with this sort of game when playing on my own (get bored quite easily) so I'm glad it has co-op.

Think I'm done with this for a while.

GPortal server worked really well - will use them again - but the game is too flawed for co-op, IMHO.
With progression being server wide, felt that I could only do stuff when my mates were available to play and vice versa.

With the ease of fast travel in Enshrouded, adventuring never feels like an accomplishment... in Valheim, we'd gear up for an outing, build boats, get supplies, head out and might made it back the same day, having revealed a new part of the map and discovered new stuff. It all felt like more of an accomplishment than Enshrouded.

I don't regret buying Enshrouded but will give it a few months to improve - and I do think the server wide progression is a fatal flaw for a co-op game!

I also saw that GPortal can host a Skyrim multiplayer mod...

I think I've found my next project :)

Generally the NPC's you discover & the map reveal are server-side, with items available for usage that others create. Would prefer to see that on a per player basis, but a bit awkward with players unlocking the NPC's. Maybe they shouldn't be seen by players unless they have awakened themselves.

I think it'll develop better with feedback from players as to what they would like to see, but a lot of players are expecting basically a pre-launch Beta in EA which doesn't happen. Some changes will come I'm sure and they're looking at their first patch (not hotfix) next week.

I just double checked to make sure and yes it should be as far as I can tell. 13600, 32GB DDR5, RTX 4070. The person I am playing with has an 11600, 16GB DDR4, and an RTX 3080. I'm really not sure why it is having issues. We popped over to Valheim to make sure it wasn't an issue with the internet and it was flawless.

Might give this another go as can be had for 20 quid. I stopped playing Valhiem when they brought in mistlands as just seemed stupidly hard. 363 hours i put in to valhiem though so i must like this type of game.

Decided to give this a little go over the weekend, so far it seems pretty good though I did manage to immediately break the game in the first 20 minutes and had to start again... I slid down the cliff from the starting area into that massive shroud area and then had no way to get back as I hadn't unlocked anything.

The character progress feels a little bit slow compared to other survival games, though that could just me not bing efficient with my gathering and hunting.

Not sure if it's been patched yet, but make sure to craft a rake once you unlock the recipe as the recipe likes to vanish and this prevents you from crafting more down the line.

Mine disappeared, I joined the reddit enshrouded discord group and somebody invited me to their game and gave me a rake.

Stupid bug.

I initially ignored the rake when it appeared then couldn't make the scrappy rake as a result. Around patch #6 I regained the ability to make the basic again so hopefully fixed now.

44 hours in and I'm most of the way up the map and have a fairly built out base with some farming going on too.

I have been running out of water since though as it's used for the above and potions plus cooking. Try not to use it all for stamina boots early on.

 I feel like such an idiot! I spent ages constructing three fairly large houses block by block for myself and NPCs to use and have now just learnt that the build hammer allows you to construct with prefab shapes...

I'm sure they're lovingly crafted mansions not the usual square out houses!

Nah, they're still fairly blocky looking. My main building is a massive L-shape, then I have two oversized rectangle properties beside it.
I probably spent around 3 hours building the main one with it being done one block at a time.

Can terraform with the build hammer too instead of pickaxing the floor.
