"Enter Shikari"

With you on that.

In fact, any screaming at all is best left outside 'music' (in quotes cos screaming 'singers' don't usually do it over what I'd deem music anyway)

screaming brings a lot to songs as it helps to emphasis aggression, if you don't "understand" it that's fine but it's just what some bands do, just lie down tuning guitars, just like using distortion, just like a lot of things to help emphasis the kind of music they are trying to create

BMTH are a joke of a band tbh. its goddamn fashioncore with poor lyrics sung poorly over bad instrumentals. I see zero appeal.
If they weren't pretty, they'd be nowhere.
Haha, BMTH were nowhere about 2 years ago back when I had a connection to a band member, woo, but even though they're pretty much about the image and the culture behind it they've done well by playing so many tours and things, fair play to them even though they're not exactly the best to listen to. Probably the same sort of story with Enter Shikari too.

Can you tell me the differences?
HORSE are more 'nintendocore' or grunge with some decent sound, but enter shikari are technoboppy keys with the grunge behind that.

edit: I actually really like the keys behind enter shikari and the attempt at an 'epic' vocal behind it really has potential but their sound is so scatty behind that.

HORSE the band are totally spazzy hardcore with crazy 80s casio keyboards. Enter Shikari are dodgy metalcore with crappy "techno" bits added in.

That said, the vocalist in each band has a pretty poor voice.

Enter shikari are metalcore?
Hahaha what.
Killswitch engage are metalcore. Unearth are metalcore. Becoming the archetype are metalcore.
None of them sound anywhere near enter shikari.

Also. GENRE NAZIS ITT

Ash

PS: People who are saying listen to horse the band aren't giving a bad recommendation IMO...

I only know one song for now.....the one with the clapping? Its always played at the cathouse in glasgow and im always dancing to it. :o

All my mates who listen to lamb of god,TBDM,pantera and all that stuff quite like some of their songs.

www.myspace.com/bleedfromwithin being my mates band to give you an idea of their type of music.

they have some reminiscence of metalcore. They use low C# standard tuning quite often, have generally quite heavy riffs, just the singing is higher. Oh, and i suppose they're more technical

I'm really trying to like this band, when i heard them described as "metalcore with trancey bits" i was absolutely chuffed and expecting a nu-metal revolution.

Needless to say its been bloody pap! The screaming is SO weak, and it all seems just fashioncore bs to me.

Waiting for the new Korn/Linkin Park/Static X albums tbh, don't expect any good music until then.

Oh and i agree on BMTH, poor poor poor band! The only one of these metalcore bands that are any good i have to say, are Trivium, there last two studio albums have been excellent. Oh and i have to say i really like Atreyu aswell.

But yeah, roll on this promised "metal revival" we keep hearing about, get rid of all these whiney teenage trendy folk.

If you want good metalcore listen to killswitch, unearth, the chariot, as i lay dying etc.

Also, is enter shikari are more technical that the likes of unearth I will eat my hat. :p

Edit: I'd say job for a cowboy are a good example of what BMTH should have been. Sicne they are meant to be 'deathcore'.
Breeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

They aren't metalcore, they have slight reminiscence like I said but they're more hardcore. The trance bits don't exist (or are very few and far between), they use keyboards, people need to get over this.

Wait for a band which does it better :(

we got the new Meshuggah and Dillinger Escape Plan albums soon, it'll be fine.

they're too different to trivium and Atreyu, you can't compare them (i for one think Trivium and Atreyu are extremely terrible bands (their riffs suck, they have no talent at song writing, their solos lack any groove whatsoever, the singer's are both douches)

check out myspace, there's a lot of great bands on there, don't wait for them to pop up on MTV2 or you'll only get the trash

Also listen to australian hardcore and metalcore.
Parkway drive, carpathian and I killed the prom queen.
Awesome.

I cannot disagree with this post.

Shikari are one of the worst bands I've had the displeasure of listening to do in a while. The way they've tried to "fuse" trance (or hould I say 'cheesey synth riffs') into some sort of screamy-angsty-metally thing is just so horribly mashed together its laughable.
