Better than doing nothing.
Yes I agree, but still not ideal. Better than the alternatives.

I desperately want to play Metro: Exodus, but I have no interest in paying £49.99 to Epic.
Go and get the Xbox game pass for £1.

There is a dev I am arguing with on social media at the moment, he went to epic his reasoning? he doesnt like that steam has sales. LUL
I asked him for his sales numbers since moving to epic and if he has ever had a sale to compare sales numbers for $5 price and $25 price (he said anything under $25 sale price is a joke).
He has so far refused to provide this data. I expect the exclusivity cheque from epic kept him afloat instead.
100% it is for the money. Just look at Shenmue 3 devs. Bunch of greedy liars. Why cant they just admit it's for the money, bunch of liars. Any developer who does should immediately be on people's blacklist, they're a company obviously and money matters to them, but as a consumer you shouldn't reward that, you should only ever reward something for being as expected with no exploitative bull.
Especially don't reward them when they can't even admit in plain language that's about the money.

Why is MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries an Epic Games store exclusive?
Partnering with Epic gave us the ability to delay our release to early December so that we could make the quality of game we desired as well as the financial footing to make sure MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries could be properly localized with a significant marketing effort.
We also feel very strongly about discoverability and believe that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries has a greater chance of market success on the Epic Games store.
So Epic have given them a bag of money to finish the localisation, and they believe they'll sell more copies on Epic due to not being lost in the cruft on Steam.

Ironic that what could have been the return of the franchise is actually going to kill any chances of it coming back... serves them right tbh
Usually, although I’m referring to Origin and Steam here as I refuse to install this, empty the folder in question, start the download so the folder structure gets created, exit the launcher, copy everything back into the folder and restart the launcher. With luck and good programming on Epic’s part the Launcher will see the files and just verify them.I've just had to re-install windows 10 from scratch due to an upgrade.
With the Epic store, is there anyway I can re-install a game (Rime) that is still sitting on my 'Games' hard drive, so I don't have to re-download it.
When I use the Epic launcher to 'install' the game from my library, it asks me where I want to install, and if I use the existing game directory it just tells me it must be an empty directory.
