Epic Games Store now open!

Am I being thick, or is there no way to pay for more than one game in a single transaction?

I want to use my £10 coupon, but you have to buy something worth £14.99 or more... the Anno 1800 DLC I was interested in is £14.69, so I was trying to add something else to take it over the required amount, but seems like you can't.
I have seen people say this before, looks like you can't buy more than one item on the store at a time.

You're correct but you can't use the coupons on DLC anyway.

The coupon states it's £10 off any one game at £13.99 or above, DLC excluded. You then get another £10 coupon that's valid until May (and then another if you use that one before the sale ends, and so on).

Don't think the coupon can be used against content (DLC) purchases, unless bundled with a game?

Don't quote me but I think it's in the T&C's.

It's because studies have shown that putting things into a "cart" and then seeing a larger total bill tends to have the effect of making you second guess the purchase decision. If you are restricted to single purchases at a time the individual £20 here, £30 there, £10 there are a lot more palatable and you are likely to spend more over time as a result

Its the new money maker.

Even traditional games are kinda similar.

The Tales games, which are single player jrpg's, have costumes you can buy as DLC, and I believe the developer announced the costumes make more money than the game, the DLC costs more to buy than the game itself. The game often gets discounted, but I have never ever seen the costume DLC discounted not even once.

did ok by epic over Christmas picked up Division 2 for £10.40 and a pile of free games I may or may not play

only have it on when I play a game

You're uninstalling Steam and buying all your future titles through their store?

where on earth did i say that? That would be all levels of stupid!.
it was a light hearted comment for goodness sake!.

I will buy software from where ever i need to to get the games i want to play at the price i want to pay. So far I have bought 4 games directly from epic store..... which is about the same number of games / DLCs that i have bought directly from steam in the last 12 months.

GOG launcher makes it far less of an issue to me where i buy my games from now (that said last night it was refusing to load my steam titles, hopefully a temporary glitch)

It was meant to be a light hearted (if sarcastic) reply as well - buy your games wherever you like and by all means make the most of the Epic freebies - I would be tempted to do so myself if I didn't already own so many of the ones they've given out already :p

Just block him, I did, he just likes standing on his soapbox shouting how bad it is despite no one caring what he thinks :D

Block me if you like - if you really can't take hearing anything negative that goes against what you think. Most rational adults would just read and consider the alternative opinion and move on, but I guess if you need forum features to protect your fragile ego then they're there for you to use. Pathetic if you ask me
