Epic Games Store now open!

Ok, but how does that explain why these guys arent using GOG, what monopolistic practices have GOG done to stop them using it?
Is that a real question?
Because they already had there own store fronts before GOG had established itself in the market and what they wanted to do?
GOG didnt hit the ground running with a mass of features either at launch and they originally set out to provide DRM free games.

In time hopefully all publishers will allow "integration" with the new galaxy launcher as mentioned above it would be nice for those to be able to track all there games etc in one place. And I believe community support is high so who knows maybe it will happen.

I prefer to play games though and not launchers. So whatever store has the cheapest games get my money. I even bought Ubisoft games on origin and Epic.

I also don't get why Epic are attracting all the hate for the direction all publishers took nearly 10 years ago when steam was at its peak.

Satisfactory has been released on steam but the haters are still not happy. Apparently you need to link with Epic to play the game.

The haters on Steam never will be, I've been following the forum there and so far I've seen repeated complaints about Satisfactory , everything from "there is almost no combat I hate games with no combat" (bit like complaining that Oxygen Not Included has no combat or that Doom has too much combat..duh) , "Its only got a 10% discount, I want at least a 50% discount", "I will never buy it because it was on Epic" (congrats on cutting your nose off to spite your face there dude) , "Why is there only 1 gameworld" (yeah..one absolutely enormous one that you could never really fully see in one play through), "Its a boring game about conveyor belts and automation" (??? What exactly were you expecting it to be? Did you do ANY research at all on the purchase you where about to make) , "It forces you into multiplayer and there is no single player" (um..what??)

This is part of the reason why I dont usually tend to go by reviews and opinions on Steam, because a sizeable portion of people on Steam are just nutjobs.

What are you talking about? On Steam it's currently sat at very positive overall.

They've integrated the Epic online service into the single player Steam release though, which just seems dumb to me.

It's not dumb, it's a feature of the Unreal engine which allows for developers to use Epic's services to do cross-platform play. As far as I know, no other company does this - not PSN, not Xbox Live, not Steam. From what I've read, it's an optional thing for Satisfactory if you want to play with people who own the Epic version.

So does it actually make you run EGS the run the game when launched through Steam? If so that's kind of annoying, but I don't care about it using the Unreal Engine backend - wouldn't be the first game on Steam that does that (Rocket League for one does this as far as I know)

I thought I was fairly clear in what I was talking about, but if it helps, I will quote myself so that its more clear. Will bold the section that points out precisely what I was referring to (note... its not the review rating)

Bumping this for the free Samurai Shodown collection, one of the best freebies for me as I already had Ark.

You get about 7 games including an unreleased final ever Neo Geo game Samurai Shodown Perfect, all of which still play and look great and the museum content is incredible.

Tons of concept art, character profiles and even multiple 20 min+ interviews and documentaries with the original creators. Some of the best museum content I've ever seen. If you're interested in game design and game history this is worth getting even if you don't play the games.
