Epic TTS

I could chuck 10k at my celica and be at 600bhp? Whats your point? I would rather see the reflection in the window of me in a GTR than looking like a ponce in a TT even with less power.

For the same price you could have something nicer too look at (my opinion), far nicer and easier to drive, comfort, class etc and faster for same price. Yes you could do that to your Celica, but certainly not as nice to drive, comfortable or classy. I would say ugly too but that's of course subjective person to person.

SarGara, what is Barry on it? Miltek Race system, and pipercross Intake, cant see many agreeing there!

I know a lad at the Specialist that looks after it and says its a good one and pampered, cleaned weekly with proper care and products. Said the map is wasted on it as he never takes it over 4k. So might need head off for a clean of the valves but that's a DIY job one Saturday for me at minimal costs. Id prob do that with whichever one I buy.

I'd be put off by that most certainly.

White cabrio from Essex for starters
It's been tinkered with
Lolboostgauge
"Never takes over 4k" - Yeah right.
Has been modded
60K mileage and i can't see an age of the car listed.

Totally agree Rossi.
However Boost Gauge I think everyone from Essex fits ;-)
Modded doesn't worry me at all as long as all done to a very good standard and not "Barry Mods".
Boost gauge is a Defi to be fair although must be for show really as they have one as standard! 60k Miles wouldn't bother me, engines are very reliable!

All subjective things really. A GTR is a piece of cake to drive day to day and it's comfortable. Not sure a TT has class though, it's not a Rolls. And what's with this 'faster' reference all the time, in a straight line maybe but what's it like going round corners compared to a GTR?

A GTR certainly isn't a looker to most people but a TTRS is still a TT, and I know which I'd rather look out the window and see on the drive.

The corner thing I was sure I wouldn't have to state. TT out handles a GTR unless its stupid fast stuff. As I said you have to be as sad as me and really read into owners that have owned both, or know people with both.

Well rather than "reading into owners that have owned both", how about some facts and figures?

The original, and slowest R35 GTR vs Audi TTRS

A slightly newer and improved, but still stock GTR vs Audi TTRS

Only on planet button moon.....

I've driven a TT RS manual stage 2 and a TT RS Plus S-Tronic DSG. GTR wise I've driven 2009 stock GTR with y-pipe, 2012 stock GTR.

Of the mark, GTR everytime, the TTRS is not remotely close off the line.

Rolling, the stage 2 TT RS would be close to the stock GTR say on a 60-130mph run, but the GTR is would still be ahead and beyond 130mph its all GTR and this is comparing a stock GTR to a tuned TT RS.

Corners: One understeers like a pig and is beyond dull to drive and the other keeps your senses alert and likes to waggles the tail. No guesses as to which one is the understeer queen. ;)

The GTR has more grip, handles better and is far more fun to drive, the TT RS is absolutely no contest and I've driven several models of both. End of the day the TT RS is still a front wheel drive car with the engine in the nose/bumper that sends power to the rear when required. The GTR is a RWD car that sends power to the front when it needs it and side to side and can vector torque and perform other feats of magic whilst at it and have a more better weight balance.

The only thing the TT RS wins here, is purchase price is lower, it is easier to drive being typically dull Audi and the running cost are far lower and for the money yes they are a very quick car, but not on the same page as a GTR.

The only Audi which out handles the GTR is the R8, and it is absolute marginal and when I say out handle is that the R8 has a nicer handling balance and more feel to the drive, but the GTR still out grips the R8 and will beat it on a track. :)

Please come back down to earth from planet button moon please, comparing tuned TT RS to stock GTR's is silly, the stock GTR whoops its backside and for roughly the same money as a stage 2 TT RS conversion gets you about 650BHP in the GTR. :)

Lol.

Its still for sale. I know the guy (Being a fellow TT guy)

and there lies the problem with modding your car.
You instantly lose potential buyers because chances are its not to their tastes and you have insurance issues to worry about.

Modding should be done tastefully imo, or on a car you will never sell - this guy just went to far.

Perhaps he thought he was building a masterpiece... An object of desire. The sort of thing one would see on a forecourt at HR Owen.
