heh, too true, the balls are far far easier to spin, curl, dip, chip etc than the balls of the 90.s

Crouch hands down. To do it against the best defence and best keeper in the league makes it the best.
Why? It was irrelevant, no defence in the world would have stopped it if the keeper is positioned like he should be, likewise Cisse.

I like RvP's as it I know how difficult it is to connect with a ball like that, never mind connect with it perfectly. I also love the last slow mo replay that shows him completely tensing up his body just as he connects, great shot.
That said, Crouch's probably edges it, lovely first touch and great volley. Very close call though

I saw something as ridiculous from Andy Townsend for Villa in the mid-90s, I think it was against Wimbledon (maybe). Struck a shot from 30 yards with outside of left foot cutting across the ball, looked like it was going in top right corner but just swung all the way over into top left hand corner.
Really annoying that I've never been able to find a video of it, I just remember it from match of the day about 17 years ago or whatever.
Well he has only played 13 games, lets see how well he does next season!

Your right you can't, but you can judge them on their records from previous clubs and leagues which is phenomenal bearing in mind who he was actually playing for.

That doesn't matter though, because he wasn't playing in the 'Best League in the World ever and football only started in 92 and all other leagues are **** and full of diving cheating foreigners'

I'm not going to shy away from my bias, it has to be Crouchy.
The build up was excellent too right from the goalkeepers kick the ball never touched the ground until it was resting in the back of the net.
Cisse's goal was amazing but that was more down to the insane swerve.
