erm... I think they've kicked me out of uni

Probably best the uni lets you go tbh. If you cannot even work out to photocopy a friends timetable so you know where and when to turn up. I don't think uni is for you...
Agreed.

Either the uni is so crap they can't even get it together to produce a comprehensible timetable, or your not capable of reading. Either way I'd say the uni isn't for you.

If you didn't steal the HD ask why he's accusing you and stick up for yourself.

Well, I've managed to get through school and college with no timetable problems, so it must be their fault then...

School timetables aren't exactly hard to understand, and colleges cares so little about attendance that not understanding a timetable doesn't actually matter, at all.

It's not the "understanding" of the timetable, the timetables are just plain incorrect. When went to the designated class at the designated time, the tutor said I'm not on the register and told me to go away.

It was a big guy with a ponytail, so I just left.

You sure you're at the right Uni.

You did apply did you not?

He had a ponytail, so you left? Did you ask him what the class was, uni's are generally, pathetic, people not being registered onto courses they should be is ridiculously common, as is misreading a timetable.

Considering its a uni, and everything is on the intranet(including these days 98% of your course content) you should also realise that there will be a bulletin board somewhere, for one of your modules, subjects, actual course or more likely for the department your course is run by. I am certain your timetables ARE on that intranet and I'm certain 50 other people have asked about their timetable in those forums and your answer is right there.

As for attendance, why would you bring up attendance as a reason for being thrown out, when you say you've received a note telling you to return something you stole. Its pretty simple, when accused of theft, AND not guilty, you go talk to the person who accused you, not post on an internet forum.

Are you the guy who was asking why your friends wouldn't take you seriously in a recentish thread, when you started standing up for yourself a bit more they thought you were being rude, rather than doing whatever they say.

If that was you, and you still need an answer, re-read this thread.

You can't work out when your lectures are and you didn't go to freshers week? You really are doing it wrong. As for the timetable ask someone in the lectures you do make it to. You did enrol on the course etc right?

As for the HDD seriously what the hell. The ones in the towers are generally sealed however at my uni they give out other HDDs to IT students for various project work but you generally have to sign for them etc. Seeing as you haven't met anybody as you're some sort of recluse it can't be somebody using your name as you haven't met anybody.

ye my timetable is messed up this year.. have changed like 6 times.. best thing to do check it on student portal as teachers do tell late/at the end of the lesson w/e basically its very easy to miss it..

you constantly come across as a total pushover in every thread you make and this one is no different

get told your not on the register. leave without saying anything.
dont understand the timetable. dont ask anyone for help until you get it. (this is not the offices job btw)
get accused of stealing . do nothing about it.

for some reason i imagine you had a horribly bad attitude when dealing wrongly with the above too

heres some tips though.

email the guy and tell him he must be mistaken (or give the HDD back) how does he know your name if your not on the register btw ? took about 2 years for my lecturers to know my name !

go ask people for help with your timetable until you know where you should be . even if it means going to see the course tutor , but you should have a mentor or support officer who deals with whichever school of the uni your at. you would have met them in freshers week... ask other students too. who cares if they aren't your friend ? they are in the same situation or where once.

sign your name on the bottom of the register. seriously. at both uni's i have attended there has always been multiple students who arent on the registers for pretty much the full year. usually people with weird names or who dont ever talk to anyone

when you got accepted to uni you will of got contact details about your first day. i advise you contact them. have you even enrolled ?
