Escape from Tarkov

Hey people, been watching this a lot lately on twitch, thinking I might enjoy it.
Is there anyway to actually trial it?
Does the standard edition give you enough stuff to enjoy the game? I see the stash size is a lot smaller, is that a problem or no?

The standard edition is ok and tbh not a disadvantage in trerms of stash size now although it is small. Since patch .12 the hideout has been implemented and you can increase your stash size over time so that it is the same size as the EOD edition of the game.

The game is different to any fps you will have played and be prepared to die a lot - believe me this game is difficult at the best of times (streamers make it look easy but it isn't!!) but the gun mechanics are possibly the best out there in a game. Cheaters are not a massive problem now that battleye has been introduced, performance is also greatly improved.

Ive had the game since the end of 2017 (standard edition then upgraded to the EOD version 3 months later) well worth a buy imo.

Thanks for that, so does the game go on sale ever? Was just about to bite the bullet on the standard edition for 35 euros but didnt realise it didnt include vat or tax so it's actually like 45 euros. Should I just do it or is it likely to be cheaper on the upcoming xmas sale period?

Oh and hows it likely to run on a i7 7700k with a gtx1070?

There's usually a sale around christmas. Should run ok on that rig assuming 1080p.

They have sales 2/3 times per year, also if you buy one edition then decide to upgrade later you only pay the difference. Performance wise my rig runs at around 50 - 70 fps at 1920 x 1200 so yours should be fine.

.12 has been out for some time now and it's decent, the new map is great and the anti aliasing really does clean up the 'messy' visuals that has plagued it since its original release, everything is much cleaner looking now.

In terms of performance the first couple of days seemed to show promise in terms of the stutters being reduced however a couple weeks later and it now runs just as poorly as it's always done. I really can't get my head around why they can't fix these problems, one of the main stutters is linked to when another player on the server fires their gun... it's been known about for years and yet the problem remains.

It still retains the title of 'best broken game ever'.

Slightly tempted by this, are there active groups of OcUK people playing?

Was wondering the same as my friends are hit and miss when they can play but im loving it and getting right into it even if i suck.

Also i found out how to beat the flea market snipers and get some cheap labs keycards and flip them for a profit. Made about 3.5 mill in the space of a few days flipping key cards for a few hours at a time. As a new player this has been a godsend to keep me financed and to buy some cases for my gear as im so low on space as im currently only have the left behind edition
