Right, not had chance to scale my way thruogh this mammoth thread but I get my Galaxy S tonight.

Can anyone give me a quick run down of some essential apps I should install and look at for it?

Thanks!!!

Using launcher pro 0.8. Does anyone know how to get the message and email on the main screen to work.
I'm only getting it as a notification as the top on my desire. I think sense might still be the default program
For notifications. Any way to check that?

HTC desire running 2.2

I cant get Roid to work with my Yahoo mail account, it says

"checking incoming server settings"

Then fails and says

"Set up could not finish Username or password incorrect"

The username and password is fine though :(

I've had to reinstall my Galaxy and have lost an application that I can't for the life of me remember the name of. I think it had TV in the name but it was an app that you could enter the name of a film/TV show or an actors/directors name and it would show you any instances of those criteria coming up in the next few days. I think there was a website that went with it as well.

Can anyone think of what it is?

Having trouble with MyPhoneExplorer. It keeps telling me my phone isn't connected via USB, except that it is! Doesn't even seem to attempt to find it by WiFi despite it being turned on.

i also have problems with it saying it isn't connected via usb even though it is, and then when i try to send a text that is longer then 1 sms it comes back error but some have said it still was sent so i'm left unsure to retry or not.

Like Airplaine mode? Or just blocking data transfer?

Meteo Widget can block data transfer.

Sod Skype!

Get a SIPGATE account you get a free UK phone number instead of just a user name

looking for a power control widget that can turn off 3g like you can with bluetooth gps etc

whats recomended?

not sure is it's launcherpro or another app that the update i used included (which i don't tihnk is the case) but there is a simple widget you get called power control that lets you turn a lot of settings quickly on and off, so wifi, data transfer, 2g only to 2g and 3g to 3g only, bluetooth, auto brigthness etc. it also allows you to say if the phone is plugged in that it'll switch wifi on and 3g off and sync on etc, then when unplugged 3g on etc. worth having a look.

looks like the link below though you can customise what you want there.
