Does anyone have fruit slasher or whatever its called? any good if so?

Been using VPlayer recently for videos, better than rockplayer I think and free: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=808776.

Yeah that's the one, a friend has it on his iPhone and I didn't get the name, just saw that you slash up fruit on it!

Thanks for the headsup, I'll take a look. Rock is decent but has gone very quiet on the progress front in recent months.

Winamp looks promising, that could easily become the default choice for your locally stored music. powerAMP beta is still the daddy though

Hadn't seen that one before, the UI looks really good... hmm might try it out later, thanks!

Still stoked with powerAMP beta, if anyone has loads of flacs download it ASAP. With its excellent equalizer it totally transforms the audio quality on my desire, can't wait until it hits the market. (Makes me wish spotify had the high quality option available and a decent equalizer

Winamp needs a 4x1 widget option.

Quite impressed with PlayerPro. Lock screen controls work well and plays fine. I do get the odd skip with it now & again but nothing worse than others I've tried.

Thanks for the heads up on powerAMP. Looks very good & +1 for the 4x1 widget.

ive just picked up my first smartphone ( desire HD), finding ways of preserving my battery life. anything someone can suggest?

Turn it off

Really though, invest in something like Switchpro widget and make sure you're conservative with use of wifi, gps etc and it should improve somewhat. The major battery killers seem to be the screens, so try to get the brightness as low down as possible. Not sure if the Desire HD is AMOLED like the Galaxy S I have, but I can use mine on lowest brightness even outside, so that must save some battery. Mine lasts 2 days with moderate use, more or less.

Disable auto screen brightness and set it lowish yourself, auto screen brightness eats the battery, at least it does on my Hero.

I use Rail Planner Live, it's fantastic, will find local stations etc. I think it's the 'official' app. The widget is pretty good too:

just tried VPlayer. lip sinc issues fror me on my desire - rockplayer plays perfect
