backup without root?

I still havnt grown the proverbial pair required to root my desire so was wondering if there is an alternative to TiBP that does about the same thing but doesnt need root?
Or is the easiest way just to copy your SD card contents to a pc and not worry about the phones internal memory?

Railplanner Live is excellent but the locatioin based widget (which is really useful for commuters who take the same route on the train every day) is still flakey again when it comes to recognising your location and needs a manual location update.
That aside its excellent.

I have only just received my desire HD from orange and would like to know what android phone manager people are using on their PC?

EDIT - do I have to use the orange app store - its a bit slow?

Have you tried Universal Androot (or a variation of - not sure what else is out there).

Download, install, run, click root. It gives no hassle temporary root access.

when i copy and paste writing from the pc then send it to my samsung via bluetooth how can i send it a a message to someone i use thinkfree to open he file . its a Text Document (.txt) but it wont send it .

I was really confused when I realised it didn't work, took me absolutely aaaages to figure out it was adfree. There seems to be surprisingly little information online about this incompatibility.
